You don’t want the rear wheel to lock up otherwise it slides out from underneath you all too quickly. The rear has to keep turning and that’s where the slipper clutch helps. If you don’t have a slipper clutch you fan the clutch to control the slide.
Car drifters very rarely use compression lockups to get the car sideways these days, it’s extremely hard on the drive train and they mainly use a hydraulic handbreak then lots of horse power to control and maintain the slide.
Get some motard wheels and have a go mate, it’s fun.
There’s a track at Marulan, near Goulburn. I plan to go to one of the ride days down there in the next couple of months.
Met up with Kram in Bathurst at lunch time. He is all good. Wrist is in a cast and hand very swollen. He can move all his fingers and has some exercises to do.
Met Stex and Krams partner Penny. very nice people. They are all on the way home now and thanked everyone for helping him out.
I’m not working that day so lunch and beer sound good.

its a simple way to stop the problem isnt it…
and doesnt effect anyone and everyone.
its censorship gone mad, with a healthy dose of hypocracy added for a sour twist.
im sure there is a quiet minority that would agree but take steps to work around it…
Unfortunately it doesn’t quite work like that Menace, whether or not a person looks at the bullpit or not,the filters will look at the site as a whole and deem it inappropriate if the site is rife with profanities. AS you know I am no angel when it comes to using choice Australian adjectives in the spoken word (and like most blokes I get worse the more I drink)but as a site profile and an image thing, I feel that we should look at this issue and curb the swearing to a degree. It takes little effort to write f#@k in a manner that filters wont pick up but still get the general feeling across.
My two bobs worth.
I agree with you Mick. The odd word here and there is ok to really get a point across but heaps of them causes some issues.
I can’t add much too what’s already been said. I’d like to thank everyone for coming on the ride and the sponsors for supplying some great prizes. It was great to see a couple of our sponsors on the ride as well.
From a leaders point of veiw the ride flowed really nice and the whole group was travelling at a good pace. It’s good to read all the reports and views as we don’t get to see much of it. We get all the good runs up the hills before they get chopped up too.
A special mention to STM who took the “packing light” instruction to a level usually reserved for mountain climbers going above 5000m.
Here a the few pics that I took early on Saturday. We stopped at the first hill to guage how the group was going.

Congrats again mate.
Hey Bubba welcome to the site mate. Thanks for being the super support driver on the weekend you did a great job.
Get yourself a bike and come out riding you’ll have a ball.
Riding bulls….you must be tired of living mate  . I watched it once at Bathurst and there is no way I’m getting anywhere near those big suckers. I have enough trouble with crazy steers here.
Enjoy the site and see you out there soon.
Nice bling guys.
Haven’t heard of TM designs before but they certainly look the part.
Got much more to do?

You guys were only abouut 700m off target when you got to that bog hole. It called Long Swamp too. You would have turned right out of the bog and went past the next road on your. That’s the one you were supposed to come out on. All worked out though.
Good report Murph. You know how bash up riders mate.
I suppose I’ll have to tackle the Amazon when you get back.

Tough just runs in that family. Fish rode on through a fair bit of rocky stuff after that fall. Whenever we pulled up I asked how he was going. All good was the answer.
There was collection taken for Donna being the champion that she is and driving Kram to the hospital and stain with him for the afternoon. We thank everyone that donated and it is very much appreciated. We had a talk about it last night and made the decision to give the money to Kram and his family. His partner and neighbour Stex (OBTer) drove down from Kempsey last night and are staying in Orange tonight to take Kram home tomorrow. Donna and I feel they can better use of the money and are sure that all the Old Bulls that donated will understand.
Donna knows if this happened to any of us anywhere we are riding that we use the resources that we have at the time to do what has to be done. She is a member of OBT and knows all about the OBT spirit. The trip to Bathurst wasn’t out of her way and got her out the house work she had planned. So Kram sort of did her a favour. 😆
I just spoke to Kram and he is going well. They are putting a new cast on after checking his operation cuts. It’s looking like 3 months out of action with the wrist and maybe more surgery later on. He thanked everyone for their help and quick action and was sorry he couldn’t make the rest of the ride. I’ll be catching up with him tomorrow on his way home.
What a weekend.
Huge thanks to TB for organising the event. Thanks to the sweeps and mid pack photographers/first aiders and the road crew of Tiny, Lotsa and Nick(Bubba) who has just joined up. Welcome Bubba.
I had a great time riding up front with TB and chatting on the bluetooth. The tracks were great although we had cut some out and I know Saturday arvo was a bit quick to Sofala but TB and I had to make a decsion and that’s the one we made.
I hope everyone had a good time. I’ll do a full report tonight.
Did anyone see TB do a wheelie…
Congadulations Crash!!!
You desevered the title this year and maybe it went to your head a little on Saturday night.
He came out of the bushes with hundreds of farmers friends all over his track daks and said to a few of us “hey now I’m the ‘King’ someone should be pulling these out for me”. We just turned and walked away.
Well done Carsh, it was a pleasure riding with you again and watching you amazing first aid skills.
Crash (the King), the man that rolled Boulder and shot Eagle from the throne.
PS. Crash had no idea this was coming. He was working on his bike at the time and Ollie was digging into his pocket for his 3 page acceptance speech.
