MacKa…Thanks MacKa. Good luck to your guys too. Just finished a couple of beers and a huge feed, tucked TB into bed and time for me to go too. See you tomorrow.
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Well here we go.
My first event is nearly here. I’m feeling nervously excited and just keen to get on the bike. I think we are well prepped and we all have our jobs to do for the next 4 days. The ute is packed and Donna and I have walked a few tracks today and they look awesome. I’d like to thank the Oyster Bay Club and Central Tablelands Club and everyone else involved for putting so much time and effort into this year’s 4 Day Event.
Our property was open today for the riders to walk the special test. The property was restricted access because of forestry logging pine trees at the back access gate, the steepness of the access through our property and because we didn’t want riders traipsing past our front door for four days.
I slipped down this morning to make sure all was going ok and to take a few photos. Thanks for all the help and support from OBT and their sponsors. TB will keep you posted through the event.
Menace – Love your song mate, thanks heaps. Now I will be humming “Don’t worry be happy” for the next 4 days.
It’s been raining all night and is still raining now.
It’s going to be very wet even if the rain stops today.
But everyone has to deal with it, so I’ll just get on the bike and ride.
Monday 5th Donna and I went down to Parc Ferme to sign on and pick up the riders pack and arrived home to find TB drinking longnecks and reading books. TB started cleaning the plastics up and started fitting them up while I generally wandered around in circles. TB quoted I was wandering around being as handy as a cup full of cold water. Donna came over the shed and dragged us back to the house for a vegie curry. The look on TB’s face at the realisation that tonight’s dinner contained no protein, but he didn’t complain as he went back for seconds.
Once back to the shed I was given some direction and we started changing tyres and fitted a new mousse. Donna fitted the sticker to the right side shroud, TB OBT’d the bike and fitted the numbers. Changed the gearbox oil, fitted the bashplate, TB removed the damper and checked for a loose actuating arm and refitted the damper. I made up a rearguard dropper and the bike was given a once over. Back to the house for a nice coffee, bit of OBT and off to bed.
Tuesday 6th, it was all go this morning, TB shined the bike and loaded it while I generally ginned around. TB was all go and yet I was quoted by TB to be as nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
Into Parc Ferme and ran the bike through scrutineering. Only glitch was the mirror was mounted on the left hand side and had to be remounted on the right hand side. Really guys, what about the important things in the world.
Through the noise test the bike registered 94.6 decibels.
Non replaceable parts are marked with paint
And locked into Parc Feme
Once done we found our storage container. Thanks to Mal at Suttos for organising that. We ducked into Lithgow which as TB said turned out to be as handy as a kick in the kegs, nothing in Lithgow of any good to us. Straight up the highway to Bathurst. Off to Super Cheap Auto. We explained we were after a cordless rechargeable air pump to which the salesman looked at us like we had a penis growing out of our forehead. Off to Bunnings – cordless rechargeable air pump purchased. We’ll let you know how it works out. Here’s some pictures.
I also purchased a 10 metre roll of clear tube (you can never have too much of that stuff) to make a straw for my special “triple distilled, carbon filtered, custom decantered, individually bottled by a Virgin (hard to find West of Lithgow!) Specialized 4 DAY WATER” drink bottles.
Off to lunch – when TB finished his main he mentioned it was a hell of an entree. Back to the car, back home, TB lubed up all the mousses and powdered the tubes, quick load of the ute with everything for the shipping container. TB promptly kicked me out of the drivers seat of my own ute. We went down to Parc Ferme to load all the spares and tools and stuff in the container. Setup the quickshade, put up the OBT banner back home for coffee, cheese and bickies. TB has since wandered around the house with nothing to do winging like a three year old annoying the shit out of me cause he’s bored.
Morning Katgirl. Or afternoon for me, I’m off to bed soon after night shift.
Yeah a good tool kit is handy. TB will show you what he carries at his service clinic then you can workout what you need in yours. There are some good basic kits on the market at the monment. Crash won a Kingchrome one at last years Xmas party. It looked pretty good.

Good read guys. I have visions of Mick on the Harley looking cool with the MX helmet on.
You’re right busy about the Pigs throwing rocks. You either have to get right up close, be in front or way way back. Once they raise the rippers and put her into 16th gear and get her near max revs (around 850 rpm), LOOK OUT!!!!
Could have been the loose wire on the leccy start button. That’s why I carried a few spares on the Sherco. If the fuse blows as soon as you put it in then you start looking deeper for the issue and you still have spare fuses.
Well done Katgirl. As Mick said it is a good feeling when you find and repair problems with your bike. Don’t be scared to post up any questions or issues you have with your bike. Even if TB is away there is always someone floating around to offer advice.
Now you know the fuse may be an issue you can carry a couple of extras in your backpack.
I rang TB this arvo and they are on the way home. Crash did good. Come off a few times and had some issues with his decomp cable. TB has heaps of photos to upload.
Congrats Crash for finishing. No results on the web site yet. http://www.condo750.com.au/
Welcome to the site Daisy. We’ll talk about anything here.
No idea what the old TL would be worth.
What part of the country are you from?
Enjoy the site.
Good to see you got it sorted Busy. I did check mine when it happened me but mine was a brain fade by me.
Update from TB and Fireman.
Donna spoke to TB this arvo and he had this to say.
Day 1 condo
Crash went through a fence, did a faire bit of damage to the bike. Running alright, bit of trouble with his map reader.
Dave ecks brother in law on his Husky is going really well through the field.
Very dusty
Quite a few serious accidents, quite a few people through some fences.
I got a text from Fireman saying his rider Sam Laws(33) is out after going over the handle bars.
Great photos Murph. :woohoo:
Good to see you keeping fit out on the tracks.

Quote:What’s with the “Gimp Giggle” on the 2nd video Mal :laugh:AH the Gimp Giggle. The hill is steeper than it looks in the video and I thought the NX was about to go over the top of TB  . Not really a giggle, more a nervous laugh. Could have turned to shit pretty quick though.
XRTRAILHACK – That track wont be in the A group or B group. It doesn’t go anywhere we want to be. We were just exploring.
Have you hooked up any extra electrical gear to the bikes system? I fitted a trailtech computer to my 2 stroke and connected it to the 12v wire going to the old speedo and it dragged to much electrical power from the bike and wouldn’t go into the band. Shouldn’t be an issue with your as it has a battery. But sounds like what mine was doing and if your display is dull then something on your bike is chewing up eletricity and it’s not getting to the plug or CDI unit where it needs it.
Just my thoughts.
