TB
No Dick today…
I did get 56 calls from you though. Thanks for your over the phone service support calls in my time of stress.
It was a minor electrical clitch with the bike. As Medogrocket said “that’s what happens when a mechanically trained bloke attemps electrical jobs”. I was going to push him off his bike but he helped me all arvo. Alls good now.
Ouch!!
Did you hurt yourself or just the bike?
It’s a very daunting decent off those rocks. But you’ve done it heaps of times.
Good on ya Boony. Sounds like you had a good day out.
I’m keen to get and try some on these pony expresses this year.
Hey Fireman, I was reading about the Hattah the other day. Might have to organise something one year.
Jeez what happened Dude?????
Tell us more mate.
Nice report Dude.
Yes it’s scary riding through long grass mate. :S
Glad you like the pivot pegs. I think they make me feel balanced as well.
Nice crew pics TB.
At least you wont need one of these. I think Crash is allergic to them
Looks good Crash. That tyre is going to hurt someone behind you. Good luck mate.
Is your pit bitch doing tyre changes for you? Cause that looks like a bitch to change.
Well now I’m in the final preparations for this event. Yesterday TB came up to assist with installing a new piston in the Husky. It didn’t really need one but I had one there and bought the gaskets and just to be sure the bike is in the best condition to finish. This piston will stay in the bike for around 4000km hopefully.
I would like to know what peoples thoughts are on running in the new piston. One I heard of was to run the bike around the paddock gently, then stop and let it cool down. Then repeat the process and work the engine a bit harder. Do this a few times and the piston should be ready to be worked normally.
My steering dampner bar bracket finally turned up. Thanks TB for helping me out there
. I fitted the bracket and dampner up yesterday as well and will be out testing later today.
Just need a new set of wheel bearings and she’ll be good to go.
One thing I’m not happy with is the price of Husqvarna genuine parts in this country. It is just ridiculous to expect us as bike owners to pay $520 for a piston every 800km just to keep the warranty. And then you have to pay $70 for 2 cyclinder head ‘O’ rings  . To add salt to the wound I ordered a spare gear lever just in case I break mine and it was $155 for a piece of cast crap that I have to modify so it doesn’t rub on the clutch cover. I won’t be buying any more geniune parts from the importers.
Thanks TB for all your help and advice preparing me and the bike for my first of many events. Thanks to Mal at Suttos and Suttos for the great deals and advice over the last few months.
Old piston
Bore
Power Valve
Dampner
Good onya Meance.
The key I found to training is doing exercise that you enjoy. Going to the gym to ‘pump’ iron and walk on a treadmill may not be fun for you, so get outside and walk the streets and keep very active throughout the day. You’ll be surprised how fit you can get.
Keep us up to date mate.
I just made arrangments to borrow a BBQ from a mate and will ask another mate on the weekend. Both have fold out legs and are a reasonable size.

Just realised this is my camera work. Didn’t have a go that day. It so intimidating when you see it.

All the gear can be dropped off at my place a week before and I’ll strap it to a few tractor tubes and float down the creek. It flows right past where we will be camping.
OR we may have to buddy up with swags too.
Welcome Ranga.
Friend of Menace hey, you poor bugger. Although you sound just as mad as him  . Must be someting in the water down south.
Go the big two strokes :woohoo: . I nearly had a crack on a KX500 years ago but thought better of it at the time.
Enjoy the site mate and hope to ride with you one day.
