    Hi Mike,

Welcome to OBT mate, your best bet would be to chat with Trailboss(TB), he is the XR650 Guru and will be able to point you in the right direction.

Catch you on the trails sometime.

    Cheers Marty

    Bol,

TB and Mick are correct here, try to avoid long idling time.

Change the cap to a 1.8.

Use Liquid Intelligence ooolant(Suttos,in the metal tin) , my KTM 450 used to boil on tight technical stuff and i have changed coolant and now all ok.

There are different opinions on this coolant, but i am happy with it.

I know Hatto and King also run it,and have no boiling dramas either.

Yes that is another good mod, i also put a Staintune on and was very happy with it.

Looks like a great spot where the bikes are parked.

Do you guys do any weekend camp/ rides down your way that some of us OBT’s could join in on sometime.

    Catch up soon mate.

    Hi XRB,

They are a great bike,i had a 96 model for a few years and i still reckon it turns better than my current 08 KTM 450.

Best mods i did to mine was put a flat slide carby on it and a braided front brake line.

Gotta admit though,it is great having the button now.

You live in a nice part of the world.

Catch you on the trails some time.

    Cheers Marty

    Hi Brenda,

Have a chat with Galey ktm300, he has had one for a while and rates it highly, and the messages that are sent are very clear and detailed back on my laptop.

They are a good compact size too.

Every article i have read on them is good, But theres nothing like talking to the people that are out in the field using them.

    Cheers Marty

I have been using the Michelin M12 front for a while now and do a heap of riding around Sunny Corner, excellent grip and wears very well.

I hear the M12 on the rear is also good,

Howdy neighbour,Marty Twine here mate, last time we were chatting was up at the Black Gold Cabins at Portland on Craig Shooters ride.

Great to see you have joined OBT, there are a stack of rides going all the time and heaps of info on anything really.

Will be good to catch up again, see if you can get onto the Birthday ride, last year was awesome, not sure if i will be there yet as our second child is due that week.
