Maybe wiring hooked up wrong and the heat is because it is shorted to ground or pinched wire, think about it the only difference is being swapped bikes and if it was done probably it should work on that bike shouldn’t it?Mick you are a mechanic, you should know that a rectifier converts ac voltage to dc voltage and the headlight is working isn’t it I read
Check your wiring, keep it simple and cheap first
TB
Bit more of a think about this and if I was you i would check that you have good earth connections first,Not knowing what you have done I agree with TB that you should check the wiring is correct,
gday mate
my 98 model xr400 did a similar thing, if i held the wires going internal to the reg/rect in just the right place all was ok, otherwise it would heat up as you say and things just did not operate as they should, purchased a new reg/rect from Ballards (cheapest I could find) and all was well after that
hope that helps in some waysh*t working day shift, another ride missed by me, have a good one
I had a similar bad warranty claim with a 2006 Husaberg, after waiting 6 weeks and hearing every excuse under the sun I spoke to The Fair trading department who had some good advice, so armed with this info I bypassed the dealer and basically threatened Husaberg Australia with further action and guess what, had the bike fixed and back to me within 2 weeks
All I can suggest is to be patient at first but the dealers and companys have obligations they have to adhear to, so don’t be afraid to take further action if you think you are being unfairly treated.mal5.1 wrote:

Quote:Hey Moto, you’ll have come for a ride here and Medogrocket and I will show you the type of terain that will be ridden. We were taliking about it tonight and working out a training loop so I don’t stop every 15 min for a chat.
I’m sure you can run bark busters. You have to have a mirror, working horn and working head and tail light. Your helmet gets inspected for any type of damage.
they were picky with helmets this year, 2 mirrors required also working brake light, bikes required to meet noise reg of less then 94db if they test, all this is stated in the MA book that you get with your licence otherwise it is on the MA website,
http://www.ma.org.au/AM/Template.cfm?Section=General_competition_rules&Template=/CM/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentFileID=41136
club membership required, $265 currently for your licence, $550 a4de entry
If you don’t want to worry about tyres or punctures it would be best to run mooses at Sunny/Portland especially if the A4DE is run with tight trail timesMore info as requested
:woohoo:Mal5.1 just sent you some info on getting your MA licence, also found out I don’t have to get a new licence just renew my old one as I am still within the 12 month period, starting to get keen, not sure what the wife will think, maybe I wont say anything until the last minute,
Hopefully details and entries will be out sooner then last yearI’ll enter if you do Mal, we will have the advantage over the rest of the field(in our dreams)
just put in my leave as well. Up for some training and bike riding, good thing you have a spare bike just for training.you guy’s suck, fancy organising a ride when I cannot come!!!
Gez that was a bad choice of words seeing though the reason I cannot go riding is I had the good old slip and cannot stand the beating the tackle gets while riding.
What’s the stickers for Mal, your not covering up scratches already are you
Have a good ride
look forward to a ride reportmal5.1 wrote:
