geez time moves fast hey

i remember fiert getting on here jan ’09

and giving so much shit to TB that he PMed me on various occasions asking me what he had done wrong

rolling up to TBs place before the caves to caves ride, handing Salina some flowers (just to shit TB) and proceeding to drink a bottle of whiskey like it was water

it was my first ride with the bulls and i knew nobody!
i was the ‘celebrity’ rider   and had a ripping time.
i was made to feel more than welcome by everyone i met!

since then i have done a few tours up NSW and ridden everywhere.
around Bulli with LC4skin, rollins plains with KTMbull, Stockton twice with moto and champo and others, coffs with STM, nundle with the goat lovers and the potty mouthed Eagle, Mals personal A4DE special test track, and even up to the border ranges with Mr Blue… then theres ourimbah, the watagans…..
and not to forget the Louee weekend… :woohoo:

ive even had the pleasure of having a few of you northerners down for 2 of my birthdays… and the Kenda rally (but i dont remember much of that)

the list goes on and on……….

not to forget my fellow Victorian old bulls who are all top blokes. in our prime we were riding every other weekend and loving it!

and i wouldnt have done any of it without this place, love it or hate it (and i have done both at times) i just keep coming back to the banter and shitstirring

i have been a moderator here and know how much is done behind the scenes.
my hat comes off to all those involved.

so to all my friends and forgotten foes ;)

happy birthday f**kers

now bring on Sunny Corner and a fresh ring of knowledge B)

I am pretty sure that bike on the poster, is in the front window of the Unit store in Harbourtown on the Gold Coast, if it isn’t it, it is a bloody good replica.

Is this the one i am building the wheels for at Sunny Corner? It’s an incredible rebuild you are doing one of the best I have seen. Factoryphil has just completed the same sort of rebuild on his CR500 and won awards at the recent Barry Sheene weekend at eastern creek. This YZ looks like it will be even better

    yes it is TB.

one minor problem though. the front spokes are wrong i just found out today. there isnt enough bend on the hub end.

    2012-05-24_210142.jpg
the left one is the new spoke and is wrong.
the other one is the old spoke. :(

whats the chances of me getting a set of stainless steel ones to suit by wednesday night…

buckleys i reckon

looks like you might only have one to do TB

and no Nick, it was a long and painful process to source.
started off well enough but when we got to the nitty gritty like 4th gear and a new cylinder powervalve and a few rad hoses and stuff Yamaha said no.
not in stock anywhere, not even in Japan!
i had to start emailing individual dealers all over the world. i got most things eventually and only had to buy 2 things second hand, the rear brake lever and airbox

man, it prolly would be easier to do a BSA

dont bring a full goat Snowy…

we only need the back half

    the state of it yesterday….

the total price so far is around $6000

i told Craig, he could have almost bought a new one for that dough…
his reply was, “it will be wicked though, people will stare at it on the trailer”

hey, whatever floats your boat :)

in reply to: the YZ250 basketcase #222636

…so the gigantuan task of sourcing parts began.

as Craig is computer illiterate… well just generally illiterate, good old Menace got the job

it started with just plastics and new factory decals footpegs and a few other bits……

then i made the ghastly mistake of giving him a centerfold of an ’89 YZ250.
he stuck it straight up on the wall in his loungeroom and for a while only looked at the hot chicky draping herself over it

then one day he had a dream…..

to rebuild it to full specs and get it in a magazine too…….
