oh, and thanks again for the lend of the trailer Ant, ill return it one of these days….maybe!!
mate, rim locks and halve the pressure. (i run 12-14 on rocky ground, down to 10 in the slop) you will hook up better, therefore ride better and harder…like the old bull you are!!!
and you will be able to steer it with the front wheel too!
oh and those horseshoes…. i need about 43 of them for the kato:P

well dudes, JAK has said it all already in his fantastic report. so ill just add some pics and bits.
the blokes were… me on the 3dinger, choppa on the spanking new (literally straight out of the showroom, plastic on the seat still) berg570, JAK on his big black DRZ (complete with exxon valdez tank:laugh: )(quite sexy for a suzuki too i might add), Adrian on his 250exc-f, and his big brother Dave on his dirty honda 250f.
Adrians kato decided to wee itself before we had even left. i think it was scared to be out of the safety of Wombat state forest, which is its usual haunt!
Dirty Daves dirty honda mysteriously fell over, probably scared too!!, first stack of the day!!! before we left!we got underway about 11.30, thru some s/t and onto the lakebed…. was there deep sand??? i didnt notice as the kato laps that sh!t up:P
i recollect adrian saying he had a “tightening moment” in the sand..LOL..we got to the hills and i was a bit hesitant about abilities, as i didnt know these blokes, but by the time we got to the end of the first track my mind was eased by the big grins on everyones faces…sweet:)
Adrian in flightwe roosted through some known trails, zigzagging north, then on to some unknown ones. it was a trip to round a corner and see some snow. i didnt believe my eyes at first. but soon it was everywhere!!!
we stopped for a smoke and i thought a snowball fight was on order. everyone started scuttling. it was a crack up!!
Dave on the dirty honda!!we headed up to cheynes bridge track and meandered down the 5km hill (i reckon youre about right there JAK) finally pulling up to be greeted by the ever smiling sammy and our silly dog, Tonka. he is 12yo going on 2yo and loves running around when bikes are about…hes a goose!!
OBT Victorian chapter…..the fire was going and the bbq was hot….but there were no snags…..sammy is still apologising!! luckily she had made us all some sangas and platter and dip and we stood around drinking a fanta and yacking and smiling! happy days!
Jak decending to cheynes bridge…Daves honda didnt wanna play the starting game all day. typical!!! luckily he was pretty bloody good at roll starting it. it wasnt really a drama and it kept dave warm pushing it!!
at some stage, adrians bike decided to lay itself over with nobody near it too….must have been a poltergeist following us:laugh: :laugh:we headed back down south to “freds pool”. adrians leg decided to cramp in the middle of the creek… funny sh!t.
Dave at freds pool
Adrian cramping his own style!!next we hit the “stony river tracks”. they are the cream of the ride and unfortunately i had to cut some of them out due to time constraints. i think i “over mapped” the day…but it was my first time actually mapping a ride. ill know better next time and shorten the day by culling some roads. i will record distances on my map next time im up there to make for easier planning for future rides.
choppa
JAK
adrian
davechoppa, after running in the berg for all of 30 seconds was riding like his arse was on fire. i could almost hear him yippee-ing everytime he passed me:laugh:
he is in love with his new bike!!… and i dont blame him. its wicked!everyone was riding well at a good pace. JAK told me he was “getting air” later in the day. top work mate. your a good bloke for someone that does “THAT” for a job!!
on the way home we were waiting for the rest of the fellas. we rode back up the road searching and found dave stopped. he had just hit reserve and was ok. he told us choppa had emptied the berg, JAK just looked at me and said..”exxon”. “to the rescue” i replied. it was a pissa. we got back to chop only to see he had hit up a local for some fuel and was back on the road….all they had was 2 stroke, hows that go for the warranty chopp? :laugh:and as it has already been written, 500m from home i flopped the kato into a bog. it was silly:laugh:  . just washed the front out in an underwater rutt, at 5kph
somehow i managed to not get wet though??
im glad at this point that i didnt know these blokes too well, as they were all thinking..”why isnt someone roosting him!!”
i was a sitting duck:laugh:  i wouldnt have hesitated in roosting myself!!
thanks for being so contained boys. (note to self….next time im stuffed!!)notes for next time….
-leave earlier, so we can have a sit by the fire afterwoods and have a drink, before dark, one of the best parts of any ride i reckon!
-make choppa fill his bike at the lunch break!!
-remember snags….sammy!!
-try not to stack in the last 1km of the ride!
-get dave to join OBT! (work on him adrian;) )you all rode like champs. i think yous even suprised yourselves at your own abilities!!!
like i said, it doesnt matter how fast you get to the end of the track, as long as you get there!, and have fun doing it:)it was a great day. im stoked!!! 162.3km at an average of around 50kph……sh!t hot;)
thanks again for coming to my stomping ground. it was a pleasure roosting around with smiling people.
menace and sammy:)…….and tonka!
ha ha boony….ya dog!!
but i must ask, how was YOUR ride on the weekend……?
what….?
non-existant!!!!!!!!
booo hoooo boooono:P
it was on last night bill. i couldnt go to bed till it finished!!!
it was a wicked finish!
anyone going should note that the slab on offer for roo(s)ting boony is only for the actual nundle ride…..
but practise makes perfect i say!!

ya should have starting humming the benny hill theme Dan:laugh:
wheres your ride report chum????????
i want a full report on running in your new 570… the ins and outs!!!!
