Trailboss wrote:Everybody wanted what won on Sunday and they wanted it on Monday thus created the demand. KTM very much uses that marketing tool with the Tady’s, Knights etc, its good business.TB
maybe in the 80’s
your kidding your self TB !!
most average joe riders wouldnt have a clue who Taddy (GOD) or Knighter or any of the Euro riders.
they, like me, bought my KTM because it was the best bike on the market for what i waned it for.
face it, a lot of punters buy bikes coz thats what their mate rides and it is fully sick…
or they like the colour.
the difference is marketing, thats true
…and also combined with a superior product…
thats more suited to the trailriding enduro wanna be
instead of concentrating on the small corner of the market where the big Yanky dollars are like all the japs.why cant Yamaha bring back the YZ250WR, or Suzuki the RMX250, or the Kwaka KDX250 ???
shit, the Euro Enduro market cant be that hard to break into, can it??
seems so…
Ba Humbug you silly japs
Mr Blue wrote:Reality is the smaller players at this stage have no real pressing need given the global sales climate to spend heaps on R&D for this YET.
My understanding is while DI does work, and it works on outboards and skiddos, it is not as good in the world of constant on/off, partial throttle requirements of a dirtbike, we spend so little time at anything remotely resembling a constant venturi signal, the delivery needs are so complex that while it can be done, the money needed is prohibitive. The boyeson designed trapping valve will also be obselete when the boffins come out with the injected 2T dirtbike engine… put simply, there will be no overlap and unburnt mixture escaping, however if this happens I do wonder if a pressurised air system will be necessary as well?
a large bore low revving injected 2T with oodles of torque and lightweight…MMmmmm
thats why i love ya Brucee
how have you been you old diamond;)
aido wrote:All i want to do is ride a 2 klm stretch of tight singles a couple of times a day. thats not to much to ask for is it ?Bike is fine on everything else.
my bike has only ever boiled once, at stockton dunes, after i knocked the radiator cap loose while stacking.
first thing i’d check is the radiator cap Aido.
if its faulty the bike will boil easily.
i think you can get a slightly higher pressure cap too, maybe 1.8BAR instead of 1.5.where is this mighty bike boiling single track mate??
lets hit it
Scotty wrote:If you read you will see that article is nearly a year old, from may 2010, talking about 2011 model Bergs. Well the 2011 Bergs were released and they were just rebadged old school KTM’s 2T’s.Don’t blow ya load just yet, leave that until it actually happens and not just online rumors.
yeah i know Scotty…
but its good to dream of whats to come
