single track is not “supposed” to be used by any vehicle. the fines from the parks rangers are heavier than the ones from the coppers. they will chase you harder than the piggies too.
full road rego, on the other hand, is much better value as you can ride anywhere……except single track….(yeah right).
there are no inspections down here. if you buy a registered bike all you need is a rwc (plenty of dodgy mechanics) and send off the paper work to vicroads, along with some cash, and presto, its done.the only time vicroads see it is if you let the rego expire for more than 3 months, or you buy an unregoed bike.
when i had rec rego put on my KDX200, i siliconed a brake light onto my rear guard (no wiring at all), bought a $5 rear brake light switch and cable tied it on, shoving the wiring up behind the side cover, borrowed one of those chrome squeezy honk honk horns off my nephews pushy, already had a h/light on it (but it didnt work) and took it for an inspection…..
the vicroads chicky “glanced” at it, asked me if it all worked, to which i replied..”of course it does sweety”. then she asked me to start it to check the noise level. i said “no, i cant, im wearing thongs”, she argued a bit but as soon as i mentioned the words “vicroads will be liable if i hurt myself” she soon stopped arguing.
i offered her a go at starting it in her heels and “greyhound” skirt….(one inch from the hair!!) but she unfortunately declined. we went inside, i paid some money, got my sticker and plate….and the rest is history….
(she was a hottie too) (the chick, not the bike!!!)
