Just had the day from hell, went to check the damage for this ride, after the big storm in march, unloaded, tyre was flat, pull it off, steel belting in tyre was snapped and had poked a hole in the tube bloody retread was so unbelievably hard to get on i snapped the belting.
Put the tyre back on drove home and put an old tyre on, went back couldnt get up the fist 30m too wet no tyre, detoured 10ks of highway got up there and the damage was insane and with no traffic for the last 2months the trails were terrible, cut about 20 trees in 1k, got the saw stuck 45min to get it out .
Dropped into a single trail thinking if i get stuck at least Ill have the chainsaw to make a way out, broke the chain on the next tree, had to keep going.
Got to a wet peice of shit hill covered in crap and a log across the top of it, had to cut a 2inch wide wedge with a handsaw and prize chips out with a tyre lever took 2 hours.
Went down the bottom to have another go battery was flat bike wouldnt kick over, another hour of kicking and screaming and starting to get late.
Luckily a local heard me carrying on like a pork chop and came down to see what was happening, i must have sounded angry because he brought his gun, he helped me up and showed me the easy home.
Net result cost me 200 bucks cleared 1.5k

Harsh words Menace,do you make a habbit of kicking people when there down.

Whether or not you agree with live export or not is irrelevant as the jist of the post is about the human suffering and hardship.

I don’t think its wrong to wish for a bit of rain in order to relieve the associated stresses that go hand in hand with drought.Your right its happened before it will happen again and the farmers do choose that lifestyle and roll the dice.

But here in this country be it drought, flood or bushfires we should support each other when the !@#$ hits the fan and leave the political and ethical debate for brighter times

    James

You have no idea James. It’s got nothing to do with human hardship. It’s about animal hardship and farmers crying poor.

   harden up princesses!

i, in a nutshell, am totally against live export. it should be banned outright!
thats my opinion and i pay taxes for it!

why cant we keep the food we have to feed us, i ask???

well generally, because most of it is inferior and we wouldnt eat it!
so they sell it overseas… to the poorer countries who cant get meat at all, let alone the quality we expect on our plates at home.
then they (inhumanely) kill the beast, while they praise Allah and face the sun with their tongue facing north and its all better…fuck me!!!

why do the farmers do it if its not for a fast buck, coz exporters can get better money for shit meat…. basically!

i see the export trade is much like the import/buy australian arguement with bike parts.
the aussie have had it too good for too long and wont lower their crap for the foriegn markets…
feeding us with the “help an aussie, buy australian” crap.

sorry, that excuse is running thin, not just with me but most of the free world too….

they might well be an aussie but they are greedy (like the bike shops) and definately dont help the economy in doing that.

when it comes to the crunch, the indo’s and the rest of the world will just buy it elsewhere if they get a chance and as a result, the aussie sellers are in a panic. why do you think it is propped up by the government…for fun???? (just like our car industry…and too many other things to mention in a drunken rant!)

it goes hand in hand with the “we only sell to companies that treat the cattle humanely” shit that the sellers and the Gov were dribbling not so long ago….

they dont really give a rats right testicle about how the poor animal is treated.

but we hear…….oh, it will hurt the economy….

yes it will, coz thats the way it goes… and always has for years gone.

the world is a new place and is always changing, faster every day. the sooner we stop listening to the ‘few’ and see through the fog of this corporate sense of whats right for the “shareholder”, the better.

like Bob says, its a drought, its been before and it will indefinately come again!

to all you cattle/vege/grain farmers, harden up!

    you gamble for a living.
you make a packet when you win…

so dont whinge when you lose!

the worlds f%$ked, just live with it….

or you will die
