    Sunday, Snowys Excellent [strike]adventure[/strike] Ride

some Deep Purple for breakfast

At sweet Nundle time, I found the line
Theres only one drink between the Good and the Bad
Following the Boon man, he’s roosting at the world
Mud goes flying, ooh its caking on
If you’ve been bad – And oh Lord Kato will know you have
And you’ve not been hit oh by flying rocks

    You’d better close your eyes,

    And bow your head,

    ……Wait for the ricochet

    Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo..

Sweet Nundle slime, You will find the line
The thin line thats drawn between the good and the bad
riding blind man, just a passenger
    Massive driftys, out of control
If you’ve not been there, ohhh and you wish you had
you only missed the best weekend ever!

So you’d better close your eyes,

    And bow your head,

……And pray for next year

    I wanna hear you scream!

    AAA-AAA-AAA!!
    AAA-AAA-AAA!!

Man, was i seedy on Sunday morning. :X the weekend (that begun thursday) was starting to play catch up
Boonit fed me a couple of beroccas that did bugger all really, i was a lost cause
Eagle, who was rather chirpy :P whipped up some bacoon and eggs. i battled to get a couple of bits of bacoon down but i couldnt face an egg :(
you know, when you are just chewin and chewin but you cant swallow  it sucks

we all started to gear up. i decided to fashion myself a new jersey with a big texta and sacrificed a spare one i had. last time i wore it i was accused of being a closet honda lover

i dont think there will be any question this time
    12092010006.jpg

we headed off into new turf.
we crossed bunyip fields and swamps  snowy had us doing a U turn a minute at one stage  didnt worry me, its still riding. there was a little creek crossing that boony was sitting at with a camera… i hit neutral crossing it and nearly stacked
….same with Whannys log on Saturday, i got over it alright and stalled it, right in front of Boony
    curse you boondoggy!! :P
we found some awesome tracks… one of the sloppiest pine singles ive ever seen, that Mal and Damus both mudded up my complection on!! and some awesome flowing twins.

i had cracked my expansion chamber on saturday after dropping the bike over a few logs. it sounds like a 1975 IT300 now
it was deafening to ride. my ears were ringing at every stop.
ive got a new single wall one coming, thanks to Suttos ;) :)

and finally i found some “dog on lino” clay :) :)

sundays ride was just across the road from saturdays but you would think you were at a different place! it was treturously slippery in places, especially on a 2 stroke  it was everything i had hoped for, plain and simple, good, scary fun :)
i swapped bikes with PEP for a while and had a squirt on his KLX450. its a cool bike, i do like the KLXs. its like a lounge chair, similar to the TT350 i owned. if i was gonna go jap, thats what i’d go…probably…
it is so plush compared to my Kato and has big balls  i found i could easily stay in too high a gear so to not really notice the engine braking too much into corners and still power out with ease. it was realllly slippery while i was on it and i was having a ball. at one stage, i was next to Mal, rounding a corner, i blipped the throttle of the Kwaka and whammo….

it went passed full lock left and 2 wheel slid for what seemed like forever, i had my legs/outriggers out at 45 degrees, waiting for the highside..
it didnt come, instead it swapped sides and did the same thing the other way   I shatted myself
the throttle was off all the way through it too. i think Mal saw the whole episode, i must have looks like a goose
i wasnt trying to show off it was just THAT slippery

i tell ya what though, even after only 100 odd km on my bike with the damper, i could feel the difference riding PEPs, it felt freaky
it is honestly the best thing i have ever slapped on my bike… go Scotts!!

it was a short but sweet ride, i was feeling heaps better by the end and cruised back into the caravan park pumping my fist in te air…and yelling out..

Nundle, conquered…..tick that box.

Boony will have some work ahead of him to make next years better :P

i dunno what else to write??

i just wanna thank everyone for a grouse weekend!! :woohoo:

big ups to Boony and the Tamworthians, you put on a great show and are all bloody good blokes  ;) :P

Boony, the hostess with the mostest  you did a top job mate, unforgettable weekend. it was wicked showing you my front wheel and seeing you click down 2 and take off. you were smashing it all day mate. ;)

Aaron, you are the firestarter, twisted firestarter

Damus, a cool as, unstoppable old bastard ;)

PEP, you are a nut, go to bed. period

Snowy, rides the fattest drz ever built, impossible to pass

Pete, (aka Gappy) you bloody soldier ;) hope im riding like you at your age :P ;) also rides the second fattest drz ever built

Bol, didnt ride but still stacked when he heard the spidy behind him. you crazed little Barney Rubble inpersonator   it was good to finally have a serious dribble with ya mate ;)

the new guys, Buzz and Shaun (KLX123) well done. :) i was a little worried about you both. there were times where you both looked totally 100% rooted but you’s were still smiling…and thats what its about ;) you both made it through a tough day with flying colours. :) i hope to ride with you’s again next year ;)

Jeffro. you peace cat  it wasnt that WE were dicing as such, more that I was dicing with you. i was right up your butt a few times but overtaking was impossible as you were flying :) i was just trying to pick the alternate line and stay out of the Berger roosters  it was ace. even if you didnt know it   i reckon you need to unleash the ponies of the Berg, it would have easily won the drags.  feel the love bro ;) :)

Dude, first name “the”, middle name “cool”
Swweeettt Dude Sweet.  thanks for drinking when the rest went soft and wanted their teddy’s  we will dance again

Eagle, the dirty bird. thanks for the laughs roomy. i had a sore belly from laughing. you were like the camp mum, that we had little respect for   it was good to see yo again baldy

Mal5.1, what can i say, my road trippin brother :) f**k did we laugh, from go to woe   you really made the weekend mate, your hospitality and comradery was top stuff. riding side by side…wicked, when are we gonna do it again ;)

we loaded up and left nundle.
my only injuries were brain cells, blisters and a little carpet burn :P from my kneepads ;)
Ozzy took us the wrong way and we were dodging cattle before retreating and using the signs again….

i dont think he wanted us to leave…
i didnt really want to either….

    but the dunes await!!! :woohoo:

    some memorables…

    * the welcome notes on the trees, it was a cool touch, i finally felt a little celebricity like

    * asking Jeffro if he actually shat himself when he nearly played skittles with half a dozen bikes… and knowing the answer before he spoke, just by the look on his face

    * the drags…. that does it, im big boring the Kato to a 360ish    and losing 20 kilo’s

    * racing with Mal, white knuckle stuff  woo hoo!!!

    * im sure there will be more, they will come with time…

now ive gotta read everyone elses reports….

man, its been a busy week :silly:

it did claim me twice, so did a tree

all the fun of the fair

in reply to: Nundle 2010 #187600

    saturday…..

saturday came after a big night on the sauce, i couldnt believe i felt so good! there were a few sorry looking heads, namely eagle, who wasnt looking very eaglish, more like a crimson cheeked, torn-up pottymouthed booby bird.

i had this song in my head from the night before..

If I did not know an Eagle I would not be here tonight
If I did not drink like Eagle I might not think that I was right
If i did not know an Eagle i might not care to which side i dressed
Cause if you dont know the Eagle your lucky like the rest

Eagle is not a dirty bird
Eagle is not a dirty bird
Eagle knows lots of dirty words
Don’t you believe what you’ve seen or heard

If Jesus knew the Eagle he’d still be alive today
Thank god i know the Eagle, or I might have found that Mal was gay
If you drunken up the Eagle, you wont believe how he can swear
Cause when the Eagle is on the piss, he just doesnt f**king care

Eagle is not a dirty bird
Eagle is not a dirty bird
Eagle, master of the swear word
Don’t you believe what you’ve seen or heard

Aaron, inventer of the famous pizza/burger arrived, as did Shaun, the quiet achieving KLX123.

that was all of our dirty bakers dozen for the day, ready to roll, lucky 13 riders ;)

my gutterflies were going mad in anticipation for the “dog on lino” clay and sweet pine singles that boony had been teasing me with all year

we motored through the first few K’s on the blacktop, where the dude still managed to throw some rocks at me as he cruised the gravel edge
    into the first track…adrenaline pumping!!!
only to be placed at the first corner    where i waited for what seemed like ages for PEP, our morning sweep.
i started freaking out… had i listened to everything at the riders briefing??
had PEP already gone past me??
should i go back and check on them?? NO??
    FF****KK!!!

so i lit a smoke and chilled out

soon they appeared and we were off into the nundle forest. :woohoo:
from the word go it was awesome :)

we got to the first river crossing and it was nice and deep, well deep enough to cool left foot as i battled across, then bang! straight up what i will call “welcome hill”  nice and steep and rocky :)
cruising up it i was wondering if everyone would make it up, it was a little tricky.
i was following Jeffro up, starting to look for a pass when the rear of his bike decided to slip and point him due west
i just went to go left of him when..LOOK OUT!! Mal nearly takes my left shoulder off as he flies past  scaring the shit out of me and killing my momentum

check it out at the 1:30 mark
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV-YNmwDIWo

some more sweet stuff. the camera nearly gets knocked clean off my head during this one, it cracked the bracket it hit that hard…and my ears were ringing
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MzBAfjHfmI

the sequence of events are a little blurry after a week, so these pics/vids might be out of whack. tough titties!!

we got up to a lookout with a firetower on it. Boony was all excited and feeling jovial
    11092010100.jpg

if you look really close over there to the left of the bald patch, you can see Boonys shed   its the only white roof in Tammy
…see it, over there to the left…..of the lake…and hill, next to the trees :P
    11092010101.jpg

    nice fast twins…
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgDjPPhztmM

chasing Snowy… although watching it again sober, it isnt Snowy its the Dude!!…
Snowy couldnt ride that fast anyway
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXx2scLzgzY

    cruising some more twin….
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZndS02nHhSI

i had been playing with my damper all morning and finally reckon i had it tapped for rocky singles by this stage.
Jeffro has a few sideways moments before finally doing a slow mo stack into a nice soft pile of earth.. well it looked soft anyway, covered in pine needles :P
it was an awesome track, wish we had these down home :(
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehXMPMDzCBA

we came down parachute hill, which reminded me of home a bit, its a cool hill, i wish id climbed it too though. there was a little moment half way down with a log over the track in a precarious position just over a windrow.
down to do a few river crossings, one i think is now named Buzz’s Billabong   ( ive never seen anyone fit 2500cc of water into a 450cc engined bike like Buzz did ).
there was some great old bull spirit during the dewatering…..
and Damus telling us young blokes how to do it
it was different in his day

soon we hit the Berry Patch for lunch. what a place! in the middle of nowhere!
the girls their looked after us like kings :)

a feed and a fuel and we were off again, into some more wicked tracks.

at one stage i heared Mal up my clacker. i saw a big puddle and readyed to swamp him, little did i know he had ducked in behind me and PEP had copped the full force of filth  that i sprayed.
i honestly didnt know he was there aswell and Aaron had just told me at lunch how he is the master splasher and impossible to get back at
hey, i’ll take credit
PEP pulled up next to me and yelled some profanities  i looked over and he was dripping wet and giving me the bird
    it was gold!!
the afternoon was just perfect, sunny, warm and tacky, dust was a but a distant memory.
i kept asking Boony where the ‘dog on lino’ was….i was feeling a little dissapointed, that changed sunday…… 4 words, OMFG !!!!

    i gotta throw a word out to Mal5.1 ;)
Man did we have some fun, the 2 bangers running side by side for km after km, in full roost unison. with almost choriographed jumps and slides on every turn….we both had the Gonad guage in the redline
without a word, we would yield when we had to and make room again to keep the chase up  always trying to out powerslide each other.
its one thing to be riding in the zone…but being in the zone with someone else right next to you who is also in the zone….almost clipping bars…

its another level of the game

    freaky fun :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

i remember overtaking a few people, 1 each side at pace. it was a wild rush
if those peeps were anyone reading this and they shat themselves, im sorry and i owe you a beer :P

i was probably peddling a bit fast considering i was 15 hours from home…

    but hey..
the Zone is addictive

like sheep to the slaughter we were led to the final hill. it was beautiful.
no ruts, small rocks, good grip, big windrows.
skipping the front wheel in 2nd band from windrow to windrow was just plain sweet  Snowy reckons i threw a bucket of rocks at him when i jumped one :P sorry mate

i think this was Gappys hill too, where he copped a boulder in the choppers, breaking a couple and giving him lips like Marsha Hines  .
man it must have hurt. it looked nasty. i dont think it was me that chucked it.?? im sure he would have told me if it was me
i did ask him but i cant remember the answer?? what a pisswreck

i do remember Gappy wanting to throw a few stubbies at me over the course of the weekend   i was givin him a bitta shtick 😆 totally unlike me to do such a thing, i know ;)

i actually copped one in the mouth from Gappy earlier, just after the wombat obsticle, its on one of the vids, dont ask me which one. f**king hurt too, it did.

all the track were just pristine, almost groomed for us. if i had to pick a favourite, it would be the nice flowing one that we did both ways to and from the Berry Patch. heavenly it was young skywalker

i had a drag with Boonit on the way back on a dirt road…
i spun up hard and lost the start, but clawed him back by the top of 3rd, just as i took his nose…..Blawwwwwl

i ran out of petrol      F**k it

Boony thought all his Xmasses had come at once and immediately started mumbling about how we were racing to the next sign post…blah, blah
i beat you by a knob, fair and square.

    awesome!!

we cruised on home. we all was thirsty

the amenities at the caravan park are second to none. ive never seen better, especially being in nundle, the arse end of the black stump

a hot shower with a whiskey is just ace after a ride. everyone looked at me weird when i made a drink to take in the shower.
its the best i tell ya’s.
dont knock it till ya try it ;)
everyone wandered off to the pub for dinner. me and Mal sat and reminissed the ride and our synchronisation

i was still to hyped for dinner when we got over to the pub and couldnt even finish my steak sanga!
Snowy was glued to the telly with the “Ra Ra” on, (thanks for the tip Dude). Dude is right, it should be called ‘penalty’
i got bored with asking Snowy stupid questions about the rugby eventually

back at the ring of knowledge…

    the wood is wet.
some accelerant is obtained and Aaron takes charge of the firelighting
little did any of us know, he is a total firebug and actually has the video of Moto lighting the fire at Orange on his phone…
    thats worship

Aaron, created the Pizza/Burger in honour of Moto…
    11092010105.jpg

    Victory to Aaron
    11092010108-1.jpg

it was another bloody hilarious night at the ring of knowledge, full tilt shenanigans

it seemed to peter out rather early, with tired bodies retreating into the night…
Mal and the Dude backed it up for another good sip session.
    its pretty blurry.
back in the cabin we woke up the dirty bird. he came out feathers flying  gold!!

    i remember seeing 4am and thinking…

    youre a dickhead…..no, a drunken dickhead…

got to be one the bike in 5 ish hours :X :side: …….

oh dear

“Eagle, you potty mouth, shut up and go to bed or i’ll turn you into a feather Boa”
