make sure you clean and dry the rims drew. at least the front as you will have to replace my temporary rim tape job. it probably lasted 2 minutes

yeah, the first one was a broke spoke, i remember seeing Aido licking the nipple

and check the rest of the spokes by tapping them with the spoke spanner. you will hear the dull ones. give the m a nip up till they ‘ting’

You calling me lazy?….You know I know nothing about computers ;) ;)

That was one of the best rides I have been on it had everything and with any luck the more I ride in that area it may cure the fear I have of step downhills, I was starting to handle them well by the end of the day…thanks Menace for your help and encouragement

Only one small off for the day and I got very wet 😆

It was a pitty you missed the race back around the lake and for 6 buggered riders we were flying through the sand, it was a hoot :woohoo:

Also Menace great vid’s, do you have any more? Can you burn me a copy?

next time we’ll go to some STEEPER ones to walhalla for lunch ;)

yes, i missed the un-official race back to camp. it happens every ride and always is wicked.

of course you can have copies mate, i still have the raw footage too. but it isnt much more than that…

i was to busy being excited and trying to stay upright to take any more footage

it didnt bottom all day though ;)

maybe i am onto something

heres some footage of donnellys creek track. it it bloody beautiful. too nice to fly along. there are about 5-6 huts scattered along the track and it follows alongside the creek…

    just a magic place.

and i still hadn’t noticed my forks were buggered.

the shitty rattling sound is my chain guide. well i can hear it anyway   it was annoying me all day.

heres a bit of video from the weekend. its fultons track and army track.
i was having a ball chasing Billt around and giving him a nudge

my bars are already twisted by this stage and the fork is already hanging out. its about 50km into the ride.

it made me feel a little queezy watching it. knowing how hard id hit stuff through the day.
its probably lucky i was sweeping as i was only rolling the windrows mostly. some of the ones i would usually launch off are 8 foot high….

to think what could have been……

I would like to one day have a go on one of these orange bikes to see what I’m missing.. :P :woohoo:

Quick question in regards to the 2t verses 4t.. I always thought 4t was presumed better for trail riding because you can use the engine for braking where a 2t won’t allow it.. How does this fit? I use my motor in a lot of instances IE; going into a nice wide turn, for braking before I actually use the brakes..

are you going to nundle krusty, you can ride mine there if you are. i dont mind showing you the orange light mate

as for trail riding….you get used to no engine braking. sometimes its an advantage, sometimes not.
i go through lots of rear pads but i can place the bike better with a brake than with compression. i used to ride 4 strokes but smokers are much more fun

if i ride a 4 stroke now i feel like im gonna go over the bars everytime i back off

damn straight Bruce, they just dont get it do they.

i know deep down rocket wants a 200exc coz theyre fun. :P ive heared it straight from the horses mouth.

and i couldnt give a rats arse for mx/sx. its one small man made niche, wanked up to the max like everything else in the states (no offence krusty). KTM will take that over with the 350 soon anyway
not that i care

if you like rocket i will burn you some dvd’s of erzberg and romaniacs and last man standing enduros….etc for you and mail them up.
you will be amazed at the amount of 2 bangers, especially 300s.

as extreme as they all are, they are still a lot closer to the type of riding we all do ;)

    its real racing :P

I’d like to think that KTM or Husky or GG do it first as they deserve to for the continued R&D they do with the 2T powerplant.

don t you think there wasting there time with two strokes just look at the results in the mx and sx championships around the world lucky to get anyone to enter a race on one .there outdated and there power delivery is not suited to racing unless your old and sit on the back of the seet B) :woohoo: :side: so i spose its okay for them to persist with pds :P back in the day i road a ktm400 2001 model back to back with my wr400 2000 model the wr had the beter moter but the ktm handled and steered heaps better?was funny to follow but the back seemed to skip around a lot. i like this thread its fun[/quote]

that is crap rocket…is your giggle hat getting tight

wasting their time with 2 strokes??? over half the bikes in the WEC and Indoor champs are 2 bangers

    fishing Bruceee???

heres the bite you were looking for

this thread reads to me like another anti PDS, anti ktm rant about suspension that was in DEVELOPMENT during the ‘supremely dangerous 99-04’ models.
come out of the dark ages bruce.
i, and i think most KTM riders couldnt give a rats arse about 99-04 as its old news. it is a dark patch on KTM in history but theyve learnt from it.
all bikes have come a long way since then bruce, as you have previously agreed.

Hmmm, now i see KTM has made a linkaged 350…to suit a market called something like “US manmade arena SX/MX commercialcross”. i believe the 350 is lighter, has better power delivery and jumps like a grasshopper, especially made for that boring crap.
good on them i say, its the only discipline of the dirtbike genres they dont EXCEL in!!
and whats that im hearing on the street?, with a little work KTM will be back on the podium again in the states.
it really is a purpose built bike to do one thing, race stuff with big jumps.

i watch a lot of bike stuff and racing on foxtel and it seems everywhere else in the world, KTM kick arse…..even with that ‘horrible’ PDS system 😆 😆

they do really well in the british motocross champs, euro champs, indoor champs, world ENDURO champs, and any extreme ENDURO stuff…….mostly the natural terrain stuff, strangely enough….could that be where PDS really shines?
or could Knighter and Taddy and all them blokes be wrong?
they seem to be able to somehow overcome this dastardly suspension and whoop arse a lot:laugh:
over there, the Mighty Orange glow is everywhere

oh look, theres the word i was looking for EN-DU-RO.

thats right ktm make ENDURO bikes, really, really fucking good ones. :woohoo:
they make motards and adventure bikes and roadies and cars that are top of their tier and all purpose built.

    and guess what bruceeeeey…

now they make arena-cross bikes. :woohoo: :woohoo:

i cant wait for the day KTM is on top in the US, coz thats about the only place they arent…..

then what will you bag KTMs for mate??

i wonder if it will be thier…

Brembo brakes with pre wired-quick change calipers,
    Magura clutch,
    Vforce reeds,
nifty (but expensive) stand rubber holderer,
    11.5 litre tank,
    keyed steering lock,
    changable ignition curve,
    electric start,
    multi function speedos,
    ‘twin air’ filter,
    keihin carb,
    maintenance free battery,
    adjustable power valve…

could be any of those sweet factory bits that they come standard with :P

or is it just the fact that i only use half as much 2 stroke oil as your yama-saurus

i know, i know, blueboy, youre an ex motocrosser etc etc, sit back and pin it etc etc, back in the day etc etc…

you are old enough and ugly enough to be stubborn and set about your ways (and colours) without question, but alas my friend, like an old hound you dont wanna learn any new tricks, you just wanna lick your nuts till they turn BLUE

so anyway after 13 years of “getting it wrong” now the wankers testes in magazines are suddenly right enough for you to re-subscribe??

oh please   pull the other one bruce

you are not that cheap

phfffooo, have your hook back mate, it needs rebaiting

    happy fishing bruce ;)

in reply to: SNAKE TIME AGAIN !!! #185951

    what did you expect eags….

eagles are the direct enemy of the snake…

what sort of pooncy eagle are you, you should have talonned his eyes out and bit his head off like any other eagle would…

harden up eagle, you are supposed to be the alpha species remember

funny, i was just telling XYtransit a story last night of riding with a couple of mates and one mate running over a snake and it reared up and tried to bite the barkbuster of the next bloke that came past…at 60km/h. i saw it happen it nearly took the snakes head off. i couldnt believe it got up so high. :woohoo:

and Bollocks, you are nuts mate
