Wow, I can never get numbers like that.
And in the high country, with luggage it was pretty ordinary. Ie get to 300klm and it wants fuel.
Some damn big hills down there though. And some great opportunities to pull on full throttle….. :)
Maybe thats why I only get 2000 k’s out of a tyre. Hmmm

Same for me I have never seen figures like that.

The RMX my mate had was damn good bike, the WR just had a bit more power and harder suspension. I did all the rebuilds on the RMX and the power valve let it down by hitting the piston, I ended up with 2 stopper plates on the the valve to give clearance to the piston. When the nikasil coating wore off the RMX bore My mate wanted it sleeved right or wrong and would not take my advise to re-plate, he soon found out why as it lost alot of power due to the sleeve. When it comes down to it both bikes can be ridden just as hard as each other in the right hands. 1998 WR250 U tube

I’ve owned my 98 WR250zk since 2000 and cannot see myself selling it. It would easily have over 20,000km on it. A mate had the same era RMX and the WR had the edge over it. The only thing is it is very thirsty I get about 50km from the stock tank and pushing 80km out of the long range tank.
