A pole and pallet bridge would work nicely.Although, so would a race around a McDonalds car park. I am of the opinion that a good enduro needs a creek crossing or two. Any siltation from a bike race is minimal in the grand scheme of things (Considering that big flash floods rip through Seaview’s gullies on a regular basis.), The race meeting’s combined silt ingress into the environment is minimal, when that is taken into consideration, I feel that the greens are being a bit sensitive.
Like it has been said earlier in this post a small herd of cattle will do more damage to a creek bank, just getting a drink.Well said Iva.
Oh just so you all know. There was 3 objectors that I know of.
The resort next door, soon retracted their opposition once the resort was booked out by dirt bike riders. The other two live no where near the venue. As the crow flies one is 8kms away and the other is 22kms.
There is a certain degree of personal politics in play.
But like you say TB, it is up to us to portray the positives that come out of the event. ie financial benefit to local community etc.
One rediculous thing that happened was that the council insisted that there be silt suppressors on the creeks.
These silt measures involved a sock like thing full of gravel across the creek, then below that bales of hay, with star pickets anchoring them to the creek bed. The night before the event, cattle got tromping around in the creek and ate all the hay!!This alone caused more silt than 100 bikes going through the creek. :SActually noise isn’t a concern at Seaview. Because of the lay of the land even when you are in the camp ground you can hardly hear the bikes. And being a 7000 acre property the nearest neighbours are miles away. From what I have worked out, the “Green element” that are opposing this event, are serial nuisances and they actually have a personal vandetta against the owner of Mt Seaview and they are using this as a weapon against him. Weak as piss actually.
That is the sort of service that brings back repeat business. Good on team Moto for going the extra yard.

 Really Mick, who is this woman, doesn’t she know who you are?  :woohoo:
Funny you should mention that, the topic did come up on Saturday night. That is how she knows that Port Macquarie doesn’t have one.
Thanks KTM_Rules. Man that user name hurts to type. :pinch:
I spoke with Lyn on Saturday night. She certainly is passionate about the sport and everything she says is right on the mark.
Cheers and thanks for posting her message.
Cheers

Settle down fellas!
It isn’t 100% certain yet. We will see what happens. There will be a bit of crap to sort out before they will let it run up there.
32:1 would be my guess. That is what we run the KX85 at and it seems happy.
Any 2 stroke gear oil for the box. You probably would get away with ATF if you were prepared to change it regularly.
Good call Eags. They do clash. :pinch:
But when it comes to riding at an awesome motorcycle event or just watching an awesome car event. I think the AORC will be my choice.
Top of the day to you Mr Blue.!! 1965 certainly was a good year!!
Cheers
