    What I am thinking is………

Have you considered get riding of the XR and getting another bike??

The money you are thinking about injecting into the XR is close to over capitalising. In my opinion.

Have you looked at selling it and upgrading to an XR400 for instance??

Got the bolt out by welding a nut on and using plenty of heat whilst winding it out. Thanks Charlie. :)
Trouble is, the thread came out with the bolt. :pinch:
It required a helicoil, which was done by Rod at MudnTar this morning. Thanks Rod, the price was great too. :woohoo:
The PIG is now back together awaiting testing now. :cheer:

They aren’t sealed all that well, when I took the screws out that hold the brake hose and tipped it upside down water pissed out of the holes.

I am liking Vinnies impact driver idea. :)

I dunno if it is the chemical reation between the metals or more of the fact that the swingarm isn’t a sealed unit allowing a build up of crud over the years in the tread on the end of the bolt that protrudes into the cavity in the swingarm.

I am gunna give the weld a nut on, technique a go this arvo. Should be plenty of extra hands in the shed this arvo to give me a hand.

Mick I reckon the other (unseen end) will be all corroded and it will be an uphill battle, so while it is that far out, sorta cut a little slot in it with the dremel then using the back to back nuts wind it into the swingarm, and take them off and wind it all the way in into the swingarm itself, should be somewhere you can them wiggle it out, or just leave it in there……

Actually thought about that Bruce, but the sucker is so tight now it wont go either way. If I could get it to move that will definately be an option.
