Righto I just did an online enquiry with insure my ride.

To insure the new YZ250F we have.

For theft only and the youngest rider being me at 46 the premium was $290.39 PA

then I did it again stating the youngest rider being 17 (it wouldn’t allow me to put 14 in ) the premium for the same agreed value was $633.87.

How does the age of the rider affect the possibility of it being stolen to warrant such a jump in price???

Yep Eagle they did sting a tad. I have done many versions of the Jug Cord “Two step” as a kid. :S

What about when a parent would send you off to find something to hit you with. Yeah, like you are gunna come back carrying the jug cord.

Not often you see a Ural in Wauchope, so I took a punt that it was Ross and sure enough it was!
I had lunch with Ross and his lovely wife in one of the finer dining establishments our town has.

It was nice to meet you both!

Well I have still been dicking around with the Buell. The sprocket problem has been sidelined for the time being. First job is to see if the thing will actually run before we spend money fixing it.
I got the battery out of the Harley and hooked it all up, the motor winds over but wasn’t sounding like it wanted to start. A quick squirt of ether in the carby got it to fire briefly so that ruled out lack of spark. ( I can see the purests now cringing at the mention of ether based spray)
So I decided the problem is in the carby, mainly because I wound out the drain screw and nothing came out, blocked, I thought. Harley/Buell carbies are a breeze to remove despite all the hoses and cables in what appears too be hard to reach places. A couple of minutes saw the carby out.

Being a CV carb, it isn’t all unlike the ones in XR’s so I was confident to pull the bowl off it and have a poke around and see what the problem was.
Do you think this might be stopping it from starting? The main jet seems to be blocked a little.

The bowl had a bit of shit in it too.

Barrinton Tops is a great place. I have done a bit of trout fishing up in the Dilgry circle, have never ridden there, I bought my first BRP with that being the main aim and I still haven’t gotten there. So much country and so little time.

We can sort you out with a barrington ride Mick.
By the way, are you going away for the long weekend? I will be up your way and am wondering if I should throw the bike on.

Actually we will be riding on the long weekend but not sure were yet. WE have had a couple of options thrown our way. We will most likely head up to the inlaws property at Comboyne and ride our own trails at this stage. You’d be welcome to joins us there if we do Pete.

Not so much a portrait of a dumb man, more like I was a dumb kid that was willing to give most things a go. The lessons learnt as a kid helped mould who I am today.
