I suppose some of you may be interested in the product that I bought to try and get us home.
The product was called Holts Tyre weld.
I have since been to the shed, cracked a beer and perused the instructions on the can.
It is any wonder I got home at all!! The instructions read:
Remove object…………PASS
Position puncture at bottom of wheel…………FAIL
Shake can vigorously….PASS (but remembered at last minute)
Clean tyre valve thread…FAIL (dodged a bullet there)
Hold can upside down..PASS..(Written in bold letters on can)
Use entire can..FAIL
Immediantly drive 5-10 kms…..PASS
Then check and adjust tyre pressure…..FAIL
Travel at a reduced speed below 60kmph……..FAIL
Not recommended for motorbikes………BIG FAT FAIL.Written in big red letters on the can:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE STARTING REPAIR……….OBVIOUSLY FAILED THAT ONE TOO, IN MY HASTE TO GET HOME..
Anyhow I got home in the end, so all is good..

Detour storyI have had the pleasure of Boris’ hospitality at his place as well as being on a two day tour with him. Do it!!
He was my first introduction to proper trailriding when I first got my XR630 I had a while back. I had the best time and if you use your search button on this site, you may still be able to find a ride report I did about the great weekend we had.

Dakar death toll now 4.
The driver of a car involved in a collision with a competitor in the Dakar Rally has died, organisers announced on Thursday.
The accident occured when the driver, who hasn’t been named, collided with a 48-year-old Argentine rally driver who was returning to a bivouac in Chilecito, 30km after the end of the 10th special stage at Fiambala.
A statement from the event’s organisers, ASO, said: “Immediately they were informed by the competitor the race management sent medical help, a medically-equipped vehicle and a helicopter, to the site and alerted the local emergency services.
Story continues below “The patient was transported to hospital in Tinogasta where he unfortunately died.”
ASO added that a judicial inquiry had been opened into the accident by the local authorities in the Argentine province of Catamarca.
This latest fatality brings to four the number of Dakar-related deaths on this year’s rally.
Last week two maintenance workers were electrocuted in separate incidents.
And on the opening stage a 28-year-old female fan was killed when a competitor’s car ploughed into a group of spectators near the town of Rio Cuarto.
The rally, regarded as the most dangerous in the world and which claimed the lives of three people in 2009, finishes in Buenos Aires on Sunday.

CJNice thought but I cant see it happening in the near future. Not on Government land, too many liability issues me thinks.
