Done sweet FA about it actually.
Rocket, I am thinking the reason your XR400 valves needed regular checking was that at some stage, the motor was dusted and once that happens the valves will wear faster than they should have.

Quote:Good get them all sorry thats my view, on the other hand was it five Hondas in the top 10 best sellers in Australia and not a KTMTB
Also interesting to note, was that the top selling bike in OZ was the Kawasaki 250 Ninja which is made in India. :S
I agree whole heartedly with you Round eye.
One thing that I did notice in my research today was ,they mentioned seeds bought in by unwashed bikes. What about the seeds horses eat ,then shit out in our bush. Do we really want rye grass, oats and other introduced plants in the bush?? The damage hoofs do ,whether it by cattle or horses is equal if not worse than a trail bike can do. It shits me when I see dirt bikes getting the blame for erosion problems, when there are far worse culprits than us in the bush.
Here is another page worth the read.

Note down the bottom right hand side of the page there is a list of the top 10 selling bikes in 2009.

I dropped the barrel off at a well respected engineering company in Port who’s owner happens to race bikes and he had a look at the barrel and said” No worries, that’ll clean up OK” I then asked “how much”. His response, “How’s $15 sound?” Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

You do that on the uphills and flat trails as well Boony
Good point Dusty, I make a special point to avoid what I know as pushy tracks here. There is certainly some sweet stuff out there because of the hard work the MTB crew put in and I am sure they wouldn’t like the XR in there blowing their berms apart. Some of their little bridges are probably not weight rated for an XR650 either.
That being said, we as a group have a responsibility to get along with all the users of the bush and respect their right to be there as well.It certainly is some impressive riding. Those bloody push bikes are treacherous things. I have had more trips to hospital off pushies than off motorcycles. :S
