Quote:I prefer to think of my attempt as not just trying to get out of the creek but as an attempt to clear the bank and 20 metres beyond. the oppurtunity to look at the underside of a DRZ was just a bonus. It also poses a question , Is a DRZ the only bike that keeps running when its totally upside down?Dunno, but it was a awesome attempt at a backflip. Stay on her next time and the Crusty Demons will come calling.

Not much point looking there Phil. The boys are home. All you’ll be able to do is see where Nickj lives if he hasn’t turned it off.
Yeah the pig really wanted to stay in the creek didn’t she. I dont think my attempt was the worst one, was it Aaron??
Then again was it Snowy?? (with out a doubt the ballsiest attempt at any thing I have ever seen…….. )
Then again was it Boony??
THen again was it Bill??
Tramo, my sons KX85 has had a few buck spent on it to bring it up to speed with the 150’s but nothing like $23,000!!
Engine and suspension work to the combined value of about $1500 and it now rips.

There’s a lesson right there guys.
Day 2
Sunday morning dawned clear but crisp, a thin layer of frost coated everything which made it a bit hard to get going.
A quick breakfast saw us kitted up and ready to rip for a casual Sunday morning blast.
We hit the singles straight away and any thoughts of being cold soon faded as we wound our way through the awesome Cells singles. We were ripping along quite well when we came to a corner and there was a dude sitting there on a Husaberg. We asked what was going on and he said, I am the corner man.” For what”, was our reaction. It turns out he was on a paid tour run by a well known tour company from down south. We pressed on with our ride and got strange looks from all the corner men we came across along the trail. Probably not as strange as the look we got from the tour leader that tried to put Boony on corner duty as he roared past. WE eventually turned of the route the tour was taking and didn’t see another bike all day.WE rode some great stuff Sunday morning on our way to the Gold mines in the Cells gorge.
Boony and Pete
The team at the top of the Gorge
The drop down the hill was very steep as the sign said. The trail was in great condition and was a fun ride that had your arms pumped at the bottom.
At the bottom it took us no time to find an old mine
WE bravely decided to explore the mine.
I think there was a predator in there
There were a few bats and glow worms too
The Cells Creek was a pretty spot
The trails we rode down there were great.
WE headed back up the BIG hill to the top, so we could ride Boony’s Kakoda trail. It was 6.5km long and freaken unreal!!Just imagine 6km’s of this great stuff!!
Then it was back to camp and pack up for the trip home, not before we headed to Gingers Creek for one of their great Burgers.
This sign amused me on the way home.
On the way home Connor asked what we are doing next weekend, my reply was “ How’s about we go fishing” His response was “Wrong answer Dad”.
WE had the best time, thanks to the Tamworth boys. Thanks Guys!!!
The parity cc thing is an issue in the 85cc class too.
We have 85cc 2t’s racing against those 150cc 4t CRF150R weapons.
Great stories and pics so far!!! bloody awesome actually.
Moose not long left here, he dropped by on Ol Burple for a beer and a yarn before he rode that last 5km home. What a champion. He filled me in with some great yarns.
Glad everyone had a great time and got home safe.
Looks to me they are making a b-line for Cobar. If that is the case they will have done 557km for the day in very adverse conditions.

Going in circle dodging storms. Good one Gav.
I know the 2000 model is. Like Dusty said, if it has a compliance plate on the head stem tube, go your hardest.

there is heaps of gnarly shit around there, ive only ridden the west side.
south towards erica/rawson there is heaps of singles i hearwe’ll sort somefin out
Dosen’t he hate singles?????
The only reason he hates singles is because the XR’s will boil in tight single trail if you are not careful.
Well Jim, That helmet of yours is a bloody expensive one. Ear plugs will help with the wind noise. Has the XT got a fairing that could be directing wind straight at your face?? I have the same helmet and when I was riding my brothers KTM990 adventure, I noticed the wind off the fairing was the problem with the helmet buffetting. It got to the stage that I found if I tilted my head forward just slightly, the buffetting stopped considerably. Other than taking the peak off I have no real answers for you, You may find that there is a on road peak that is shorter available for that Helmet too.
