130kms to go with 2 hrs to do it. Looks like the lad will do it no worries!
Just about to hit Bathurst, the lad is hunting along nicely. Go Lefty.
Here’s his spot tracker address again.

Haahahahahah, you wouldn’t have been the first person to tell him that!
Good onya Lefty, I thought you may have been cured of the madness, apparently not! Good luck with it mate, I will be following your progress with interest. (like I did last time you did it) On the 640 it should be a shit load more comfortable that on the 450!
Cheers champ!

November 23, 2014 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Not by halves Dtoure. Bago -> comboyne rock. 23-11-14 #260376It was a bit bloody hot for a ride but we were silly enough to head out any way. An early start saw most of the ride done before the heat of the day. For some reason I still haven’t bothered to explore, my XR wouldnt start after 8 kicks so I gave up on it and grabbed the Tenere.
A bit of a run up over Bago ensued, I was surprised how well the Teneres climb hills even with the standard tyres still fitted. We mainly did fire trails until we got out towards Comboyne, then I tried the Ten out on some easier singles and over grown trails, for a reasonably big bike they go pretty good in the tighter stuff except the mirrors kept catching on stuff.
Anyhow after a bit of a climb up toe Elkhorn Rock road we were heading to Comboyne Rock when I stopped at a corner and realised XY and Dickie were no longer following, I headed back a couple of kms and found XY holding the front end of the Kato and claret pouring out of a couple of wounds that really needed stitching, the big fella is pretty tough and declared he was happy to carry on. A zipp tie and a bit of bush mechanic work saw the Kato fire up, a elbow guard applied to to XY’s wounds saw most of the blood being mopped up.
WE headed up to Comboyne Rock to give XY a look over Bago and the Comboyne Plateau before we headed off back towards Wauchope. We popped out onto the main road near Bago Winery and a short slab run over the windy bits saw me lead the lads back into Greggs road for some more bush before we got back to Wauchope. Again at a corner I realised the boys weren’t there again so I back tracked and found them with from the left side of XYs bike what appeared to be a flat tyre, no drama I though, I have a spare tube. It wasnt until I saw the right side of the tyre that I realised that my spare tube wasn’t really going to help the situation. It appears that the bead wires had broken and the bead came off the rim.
It was only about 5 kms to town on the tar so it was decided to limp the bike back to my place as amazingingly enough the tube was still pumped up!
What ensued next was some of the funniest riding I have ever witnessed with the big Kato crabbing up the road at 50kms an hour with XY trying to sit up on the tank to get the weight off the back wheel. The last hill we had to get up was the end of it all as the tube finally decided to give up the ghost and explode in a spectacular manner! The tyre started flapping about like a porn star’s tockley before the Kato came to an unceremonial stop, 1 km from my place. Dickie grabbed his ute and rescued XY and the Kato before a feed of chip sandwiches plus a bit of bench racing finished off a good ride.Hey Drew, when are you heading home from here?
Well done to the Tamworth crew, even though it was hot as hades I heard nothing but rave reviews about the tracks and the organisation.
It was great to catch up with the crew for a few sherbets ( a few too many by night’s end :pinch: ), the after party went on longer than it should have. By 12.30 there was only 4 of us left before a few local lasses turned up and the party cranked up again and blokes started turning up again like moths to a light. Moose and I slinked off at about 1.30 and did some high stepping staggering back to our room.
Has anyone seen Toes since? Hopefully he didn’t end up married to the old bird with the walking stick. :S
And I suppose we should mention the camels foot?
Q. Name all the animals in women’s under wear.
A. An ass, a pussy, a whole heap of hares and a dead fish no one can find.

I will also add that Dririder jackets don’t always do what their name suggests under extreme circumstances.
Without any pics it could very well be a scurrilous rumour. All I have to say is that Lifeproof phone cases are infact water proof and some what impact resistant. I am also prepared to say that I was glad I was on the XR and not the Tenere as XR’s are a lot easier to pick up when you are embarrassed.
Thanks for the great morning fellas! For a short run it had a bit of everything, someone that is scared of magpies, all the creatures that live in women’s underpants, me struggling in the deep sand, a flat tyre, a good breakfast, and coffee served by a plastic 1 dollar coin. All done and dusted by 11am.
Cheers
MickAwesome series of videos! Cracker edit Bollocks!
Gday H2O, (thats what we will know you as now) Welcome to the OBT mad house.
AS Jeffro said I managed to bust myself 4 months ago but am pretty well on the mend. Am back on the bike but not up to any single trail shananigans yet. Just been sneaking out on my Tenere for a day trip or two. If you are keen for a bit of a look about the valley, you are welcome to tag along.
If you are in Wauchope stick your head into the Wauchope Real Estate office and say gday.
Regards
MickGood onya Dusty, I see you travel light!!! Not much need for fancy panniers!
