Circlip is good. Leant a good trick with circlips during the week, as they are punched out, there is a sharp side and a rounded side. The sharp side goes to the outside against the load as opposed against the sprocket (which I was inclined to do  ) Spose you all knew that. I had never given it a thought. I am still running the old chain, it is free of any kinks and looks OK. I will be replacing the whole kit and kaboodle soon when finances allow. As you know I have another debt to settle before anymore money gets spent on the kids bikes.

If I wasn’t so busy I’d join you for a day
Call it a field study excursion Kram, the mother inlaw grows flowers commercially too, you could probably claim it on tax too.
Just to get keen for a ride, I watched Dust to Glory last night. What a sight to behold, those XR650’s at full song in the desert. Lucky the missus sat up and kept an eye on me, it was kinda like watching XR porn.
Morning all, it’s a bit wet here this morning. Looks like a good day for some shed time. The BRP will get an oil change in preparation for two days riding at Comboyne starting tomorrow. The KX’s are ready to go. With a bit of rain the trails at the farm should be just about perfect. Man I love living here.

Wasn’t it originally known as the International Six Day Trial?? First held in Carlisle, England from the early 1900’s.

Hi Wazzup, welcome to OBT and thanks for taking the time to do an intro. I see some of the locals have already taken you under their wing. GO the XR!!
Cheers
MickHe sounds more like RiderX’s type of man to me.
Plenty of boys down this way at Wauchope that get into the Erzberg sort of stuff,I will do it occasionally but the XR ( and its rider) tends to complain a bit when the going gets real tough.
Gday Waldoj,
Welcome to OBT.Good onya for doing an intro and for owning a XR650R. All we ask ,is that you don’t go raving on about how good the XR is, as we dont want all these other heathens on this site, in on our secret
WE have a few blokes up your way and a few in Nthn NSW so you shouldn’t have much trouble to hook up on a ride.
Cheers

Quote:engine ice i thought was a good product the main thing i was having problems was in the tight tuff it would boil and then steam out the overflow and then lose your coolant .After replacing the motul coolant with that engine ice it never pinged or lost any coolant through steaming out the overflow and overall run cooler.Fair dinkum, honest testimonial right there guys!! There’s a bloke that has used it and is singing its praises.
Might be worth exploring it’s benefits.
Thanks Huskybloke

You don’t add water just this stuff and 1 tin is perfect amount for my 06 450excHatto
This is the stuff you probably got Hatto
Its not Engine Ice its a fully synthetic liquid.
http://motorcyclecoolant.com.au/
Cost me $35 for a litre
Its good stuff
At $35 a litre it would want to be good. That is dearer than Wild Turkey!!
How much is in the tin of ICE??? Also anyone know how much it costs?
I am also having some boil over issues with my XR650 in tight singles. I rang Anderson’s radiators in Port Macquarie this morning and in the discussion he mentioned that his sons KTM250 is having some heat problems. KTM make some after market radiator caps 1.4 bar and 1.8 bar.(Standard is 1.1 bar) He said that the higher pressure cap does help. He is also trying some sort of additive to his radiator that is some sort of metal wetting agent that improved the cooling efficiency of the coolant.
AS for the Engine Ice, he said he had never used it but had heard of it. So I can’t help there.
