Just looking at Strucky and Ace’s last hour on the tracker, it seems that they are trying to make a wacky pattern with their spot tracker plotting.
Kinda good news I suppose. :pinch:
Looking forward to catching up for a few beers with you soon mate.
Gday Rob, thanks for the intro and welcome to OBT. There are plenty of DR650 riders here, so you’ll be among friends straight away!
I can’t help you with the GPS but there are a heap of guys on here that can offer advice.
Cheers
Mickwolfie wrote:hi micknmeld just a quick question about the brakesnake wouldnt it be better to use the marlin [nilon ?] trace compared to wire trace as it gives abit more ,if the snake is to ridgeid wouldnt it put alot of stress on your bash plate [ bolts ]wolfie
I reckon she’ll be right Wolfie, those Whipps bash plates for the XR650 are pretty tough. I think the brake pedal will flatten before it will pull the bash plate bolts. That bash plate has taken some serious knocks in the past.
Hi Luke welcome to OBT and thanks for the intro. You should fit in well with the Tamworth crew by the sounds of it they too are very average in:
Looks
Behaviour
Morals
Ride ability
MannersAlthough they are above average in;
Goat shagging
Drinking
Piss taking
joke telling
being good blokes. They’ll look after you. :pinch:
Cheers
MickAfter my little come off up in Werrikimbe, I had a bent brake pedal on the XR. Thanks to the brake snake it wasn’t bent too badly but bent none the less.
I had visions of using a heat gun to warm up the cast alloy a little and bend it back into shape but took TB’s advice instead and did a cold bend on it and it worked a treat.
I then made a new brake snake, this time using wire trace instead of 200lb Jinkai marlin trace.

Sounds interesting. :pinch:
What’s doing there?
Spewing! Back luck Razzle. Now I feel really bad, dragging you that extra 30+ Km’s with that injury!
The 250exc-f had a cam chain tensioner problem, that allows the chain to jump a tooth and lock everything up. The problem existed right through to the 2009 model. Just ask Moose, they had all sorts of trouble with their 09 model.
Like the other guys have said, go a WR.
Yep, cracker photo of Dude.
Looks like some great riding is to be had down that way too.
Hey Mr Blue,
Long time no hear!!Dunno about the oil cooler but I do have a Harley in the shed that has Japanese made forks in it (showa) and a tail light made in Taiwan.
Nothing worse than riding along having fun then all of a sudden you aren’t! Good luck with the recovery.
Cheers.
Mick
Happy Birthday Al. Have a great day.

MickMany happy returns to our IT guru. Hopefully you will see it fit to have a drink or two today!
