I rode both loops yesterday and it was in awesome condition and there isn’t really any greasy up hills that should bother you Unit. Maybe check your tyre pressures. 12-14lb would be the go.
There is one loooooooong uphill that will test a few in one spot, but momentum as opposed to traction is the key there.
TB is the man to answer your question Nick. He is our resident wheel lacer.
As for the zip ties Boony, they are there to make people like you think that they have missed something.
They are to minimise any carnage being caused by a broken spoke. ie brake lines or punctured tube.

What does a 4 litre bottle cost??
That would be a hard job in Cabramatta, Getting all those names right would be a bitch for a round eye devil. You’d have to double your missus around with you.
Gday Choot. Welcome to OBT and thanks for the intro. Wait until TB sees your post. He will be your new best friend as he has just gotten a new Tenere and is always on the look out for an ADV ride,
Dodgy seals and immersion in muddy water are the main contributors to bearing failure IMO
GENERAL REMINDER
This is not a race, there will be no factory scouts there to see how fast you are. At all times we ask that you respect the fact that some of the riders on this ride, may or may not be a better rider than you,so please show courtesy to the other riders on the day. Everyone is on the ride for one reason,FUN.
Four more west of the range riders for the day have indicated they will be there.

dunno the other fellas name yet.I had a rear wheel bearing fail in less than 100kms recently. There are also different grade bearings too. The one that failed was from a bearing service and it was the only one of that size that would fit that they had in stock and it turns out it was not of the highest quality available. I usually change mine at about 1500 – 2000km on the rear of the XR, it is only a 10 minute job and bearings are cheap.Because I keep my bike on a stand with both wheels off the ground 95% of the time , the play in the bearings is something that I check as regular as my oil level.
At what stage in my last post did I say it was mine?? I just said it looked like the one in my shed.

looks exactly like the one in my shed.
Tidy unit Puddles!! Looks sweet to me. Good buying that is!!
