Bloody hell! Nothing like a drowned bike to hold the ride up! There must have been a bastard rock hidden in the water?
What exactly do you mean “popped one” Did it smoke and carry on? Do you have no spark at all now? If so give it a whack on the back of it with a screw driver and see if you can get spark then, if so you maybe able to rescue it.

Dear Graeme,
On behalf of Channel 4 television, may I thank you for your application submitted on behalf of your wife for our new reality show.
Also for the charming photograph of her you enclosed.
Whilst agreeing that she could make a worthy contribution to the program if selected, I would like to point out that the correct title of the series is actually “Fact Hunt”.
Kind regards
Channel 4
That is some seriously gnarly stuff to ride in when you are familiarising yourself with a new bike!
To put things into perspective, you have gotten off Mr Ed and gotten onto Phar lap! THe Husky is an awesome bike, that will serve you well! Great ride report!

Adjust the preload on the rear spring on the NX I got off Kram, as it is still a bit soft and it tends to bottom out, fit some front blinkers to it and I think we are done.
March 17, 2013 at 8:09 am in reply to: 2013 Scrapheap Adventure Ride – Back ‘O’ Bourke – March 29-30 #238371Charley and I spent the whole day working on one of the NX’s, We fitted a gearsack rack that took some head scratching, some cutting and welding but fitted in the end. But not as near as much head scratching as the non working headlight took! We checked every wire and plug and still no head light, then all of a sudden the bastard would come on for no reason then go off again! As it turns out, believe it or not, it was the starter button that was causing the headlight not to work. On the NX, it has a switch in the starter button that turns the headlight off when you crank the starter, it was this switch that was full of crud and not allowing the power to the headlight! Bloody hell it took some finding, we all but pulled the wiring harness apart looking for a broken wire and as it turns out it would have been a 10 minute job if we had off known about the switch in the starter button. You live and learn! They aren’t far off being ready to rip now!

Amy, that was in the first 20kms of the ride! You did well to regather and keep going, the tracks only got better from there!
Just bloody incredible!

I spent the arvo fitting some tyres to one of the NX’s
Then worked out a way to fit the GPS to the old girl
It is a Garmin that I borrowed off Moose. You have to believe their waterproof claim, this is the GPS we retrieved out of the floodwaters, it spent the whole night under water and is still good as gold!
What was going on there Amy? Having a rest mate? That is a tricky single trail that one, the video doesn’t quite give it justice. One of my favourites in Bago.

Out through Beechwood to Long Flat, through Bagnoo and back into Town.
March 16, 2013 at 12:06 am in reply to: 2013 Scrapheap Adventure Ride – Back ‘O’ Bourke – March 29-30 #238311I just took the “good” NX for a 100kms shakedown ride, I forgot how much fun the old girl is to ride! I can’t wait for the Scrapheap ride to start now!
