Well my options are…….
1 Bore it out and resleeve with cast iron sleeve, supplied with Wisco piston and a rebuild kit (2 week turn around)$608.90
2 Get the Nikosil redone, supplied with Wisco piston and rebuild kit (2 week turn around) $592.40
3 Send the barrel and head to America to be serviced by Eric Gore and recieve the following;
•Cleaning and disassembly
•Inspection and measurement
•Over-boring to 100cc
•Porting
•Replating
•Diamond honing
•Head mods
•Powervalve service
•Piston and gasket kits.
You’ll get your choice of powerbands; more low/mid, more mid/top, broader powerband, and choices of fuel; pump or race gas.Price AU$410.25 plus around AU$100 freight plus insurance.
At least 1 month turn around.
4 I am awaiting a quote from Japan for a brand new barrel and OEM piston kit.
I am guessing it to be around $550Decisions decisions :S :S :S

 wrong month how about the 10th and 11th
If you are talking April 10 and 11 you have got me, dunno if Connor’s bike will be back together by then though and I cant see him riding the 65
Ollie, seeing as though I have to rebuild it, I think I will get it done properly and keep it, as it wont be long untill my daughter will need a 85cc bike, judging on the way she was ripping around on it on Wednesday.
IT is funny you should mention Eric Gore Bruce. I just got of the phone from a mate(Gasit) and he said exactly the same thing. He has a KX that has had the Gore treatment and it rips!! Thanks for the link as I was just about to google him.
yeah I saw those this morning, they are for an 05 model which is no good to me.
I cant look at Ebay at work ( i would get no work done if I could)so I will have to have another look at your link this arvo.
Head or barrel Moto?? I searched all morning through all 2400 listings and only found one listing that was for about AU$400. THe barrels are different from 06 onwards (different part number) I think it has to do with a different power valve.
Moose just got his YZ125 re sleeved with a cast iron sleeve and it seems to be going well, although I think you are supposed to do jetting changes and run it richer with the cast bore. Dont quote me on that though.
I showed the piston to Rod at Mud and Tar and he said that there was some unusual wear marks on the piston for only 6 hrs, it was like that bore was worn out and the piston got real shiney in spots were it was hitting the bore.
If that makes sence. :huh:Bundyroy wrote:

if you wantThe end of the ring is embedded in the top of the piston. :S
Yeah do that Bill, I will be home from 4.30. I have spoken to Lindsay at Probore in Port Macquarie this morning and he is looking at my options and will give me a quote today I hope. I have also contacted a bloke in Japan to see how much a new barrel and pistons etc will cost from there. They are about $520 from the states.
Sounded good to me, untill I realised it was a work day.

No rabbit’s foot required, the good juju has already started, a well known Old Bull has scored a gig in the score tower of the A4DE, maybe he could be open to some graft and corruption!!

I figured that I was better off knowing where they where, than having a head on with one later in the day. That was my way of thinking.

In about 1990 my brother in law and I managed to get an old Pacer with full intention of restoring it but we got on the drink one arvo, things got out of hand and my brother inlaw tried to do a jump in it and bent it in the middle. So we ended up getting a RT Charger and doing it up instead.
If those headers cause you too much grief TB, I know a bloke that would swap you two standard radiators for those bling ones
