Hey Mick, did the Hatteras have a networked computer system which could tell you where to pull in for fuel or did it have to be calculated manually?

Fully automated system, although we didn’t need to worry as it held 2000 liters of fuel, so we just pulled in of an evening and topped up the tanks.
    Fuel stops at:
    Wrightsville Beach NC
    Georgetown SC
    Hilton Head SC
    Daytona Beach.

We had a few issues on the trip, the auto pilot shat itself just as we crested a wave and it did a instant 90 degree turn and broached like a bastard,we shat ourselves just for a second or two.Interesting enough, that happened in the Bermuda triangle of all places

The Captain of the USS Ronald Reagan got a bit shirty when we tried to get a closer look at it and he demanded we change coarse immediantly, and the sheriff at Charlston SC radioed us and asked in his best Boss Hogg accent “are you good ol boys in the south bound Hatteras looking for 30 days in jail??” Apparently they are a bit touchy about how much wake you cause in the intercoastal waterway.
I had to replace a starter motor at Daytona as for some reason one engaged while we were motoring and burnt itself out.
All in all though what a trip!!

We fitted an Akrapovic to my brothers KATO530 and it sounded sweet and looked trick and we also put a Leo Vince on his 990ADV as the Acropovic system’s price was prohibative. The 990 sounds really good with the LV system although the cans just dont quite look as good as the Akra’s.

In 2005 my brother and I delivered a brand new $US1.8M 50′ Hatteras Sports Fisher from the factory in North Carolina all the way down the US east cost to the Miami boat show, that was the boat trip of a life time. :woohoo: It had 2 1000hp CAT’s running her and she was using 200liters of diesel an hour. We had the hammer down and it cruised comfortably at 32knots. untitled.jpg

Hey Wiked, when we went on the BMW test ride day, they had one that looked just like that, the graphics looked trick and the Akrapovic gave it a sweet sound as opposed to the “postie bike” noise the standard ones made.

I have spent literally 1000’s of hours at sea and until recently had never set foot on a sail boat.Whilst in Cairns,I spent the day on this boat. I dont think it is quite as big as the Necker Belle but it was a fairly big sail boat none the less.

Honestly Mick how are you blokes s’posed to access the latest in breaking news online to put into the paper?

(actually mine blocks NineMSN news stuff, says it’s inappropriate content… must be a truth thing)

http://www.smh.com.au is the site we get our news from, the video streams work there, as our company owns the Sydney morning Herald.

You need a good business case for them to unblock the streaming video sites at work. think man think hard.

I can get around it by using a proxy server, but that is a bit scary because if our IT department saw me doing that, they might just start monitoring my internet use then OBT would be flagged as well.
