Have you ever heard of me saying I am coming on a ride and then pike it??? I have been seen take a early morning chunder or two, put my helmet on and head of on a 100km ride on more than one occasion.
If I am gunna pike it, I will pike it from the start.

As far as Tripper goes you better work a bit harder on him tomorrow as his bike needs a service as it still has the original oil after the top end rebuild I did on it.
And Moose is for all counts dying of the flu and has gone to ground. So they are both very iffy at this stage.

Yeah it is worth doing if you are on a big bore bike as you are right it has some open sections, there are several ways to get there from Wauchope though.
The way I have gone suited the 600’s perfect.
