Quote:KTM 250 cross country, failed a main brg, then split a clutch basket, counter shaft output brg, and 2nd gear shift fork, and was so expensive for parts.
TB
I knew that bike would get a mention, that is what turned TB into the KTM hater he is….LOL

Quote:I try not to roost people where possible (unless messing around). That said, when I’m on it it’s fair game as far as I’m concerned. If you’re right up my arse and getting roosted, deal with it!Sometimes you get a bit of collateral damage though….sorry Tiny!
RiderX’s effort at roosting you Moto at the Xmas party is one of the funniest things I have seen in quite some time. That is karma at its finest.
I learnt my lesson when I was on the 530 and roosted Tripper and smashed the headlight on the bike. Trouble was, he was riding …………MY XR!!!!!! What a goose roosting your own bike.
Back on topic, Repco sell a motorcycle tool roll that is relatively cheap. It might pay to take the rear pack off your bike and take it with you to see if it fits before you buy it though.

Quote:Sorry Rat My KTM experience was the exact opposite of yours, except for the 50s, but in them I will say one word “COBRA”BC
Hhahahah I thought the same thing, you could also throw the words LEM and Polini into the 50cc equation.
I bet I know what TB is gunna say was his worst bike.

Quote:Mick maybe able to help here? His brother supplies KTC tools and they do tool rolls, question is whether they so one that will fit into your standard pack. The tool rolls KTC donated for the Christams party prizes looked very good.I have a KTC mini tool box and can recommend them for sure.
No good at the moment with the Aussie dollar in the toilet, we will not be importing anything. It dropped to 0.57 cents against theYen this morning.
WE made the decision this morning that the bikes I have in Japan are all going up to auction in Japan ASAP, so untill the Aussie dollar stops farting and spluttering,no bikes, tools or dozers coming in from the land of the rising sun for us.

Quote:So it was mostly your own paranoia that got you on the tools. Were you running an aftermarket bash plate (I’m sure we covered this before) as mine couldn’t be easier to take off. It must take about 4 seconds….Yeah Probably, but it was the first time in my life I was responsible for the maintainance and performance of a brand new $13700 motorycle.

I also had a 2002 KTM250SX 2 banger that I loved but it used to hurt me all the time.:blush:What did you have to do to the 530, i suppose it takes a lot of time to straighten bark busters all the time:lol:
Bits used to fall off all the time and with only 600ml of oil in the engine I was paranoid about oil changes which required removing the bashplate and that was a bastard job. Yeah the barkbusters did require regular “adjusting”.
