Good one Eagle, now I have to move this thread to the Bull Pit I think…..LOL
I Farking agree with you though.Christmas day is always huge for us, it starts with breakfast at my inlaws, lunch at my Grandparents and then back for a big do at my inlaws again at dinner. To much food,to much beer and to much relatives for one day in my opinion.
Gday MickG,
Welcome to OBT, there are plenty of rides in the pipeline for 2009. Through the OLDbulls you could come close to organising a ride every weekend if you are so inclined. There are plenty of members in your neck of the woods, things will liven up considerably around here after the silly season is gone, look forward to having a beer or two in some country pub with you one day.
Cheers
MickProbably a good idea ECKS-Man TB will get onto it when he gets back.
Gday Curlyman,
Welcome to the site mate.Congrats on doing an intro. The TBAM article has been a boon for us with a instant influx of new members, things may appear a little quite on here for a few days as every one gets over the festive season, but watch when TB and Moto get back on line, things will hot up substantially!!
Cheers
MickYes TB, it has been a fun ride since the site started and I look forward to an even better 2009.
I am going to Comboyne this arvo for a couple of days so I will also be off the site until boxing day.
Merry Xmas and a safe new year to all our members.Heres hoping Santa fill all your stockings right to the brim.
Cheers
MickYou have to be careful what you say to some people. We had an apprentice that was fitting a ROPS to a brand new backhoe and the bolts securing the ROPS to the deck wouldn’t line up. So, as a joke we told him to cut the heads off the bolts and araldite them over the holes.
The stupid bastard did it and a week later the customer was back at the work shop not being very happy as he soon discovered what the dickhead had done, going up a steep bank the whole ROPS flipped up backwards!!Dunno what under 300cc cost but anything over is upwards of $400. I just got the renewal for my XR600 and it is $442.
$103 rego and $339 insurance.
They are nuts!!! That is the sorta stuff that RiderX thinks is funny.
Tentative
at this stage, I will also try and talk Moose into it!! Sounds like a hoot.Trailboss wrote:
Quote:What about you Mick, an easy ride to ease yourself back into the saddle, no single track its the reason you bought the XR remember? Moose and a couple of the boys, travel down Friday night swag it up and go, be home by 9 Sunday night.Overnight at a Pub be home for you, if I can make the effort to go for a ride in QLD, you are less then 3 hrs from Corrangbong, I have to go nearly 2hrs to get the Cooranbong, come no excuses you didn’t ride the Christmas Party
TB
You must have read my mind old fella, I was just down the shed sitting on the fancy white chair in the corner looking at the XR thinking about this very topic, I will have to run it by my missus as her motorcycle tolerance level is at an all time low after my stack.
I will have a yarn to Moose today and see if he is keen. It has wet my appetite and you are right it may be a good ride for me to get back into it as I don’t think I will be ready for RiderX boot camp on the 16th Jan, my missus wanted me to go for a walk last night and when we got home my foot was giving me some curry, so it isn’t as good as I thought. No mate, I intend on keeping the Stihl as it has given me 20 years of trusty service even though it is ORANGE.Besides I run Motul 2t oil in it and it smells good and reminds me of the track…LOL

this silly old fool went wakeboarding with the boyz.. only to find out he’s a fragile old man
with a bad back lol:(Neck braces are all the rage Dave….LOL Hope it isn’t to bad as they are a pain in the neck to wear.(pun intended) They also bugger up your aim at the toilet.
What exactly have you done to yourself? Muscle damage?Gday Sirdropalot, welcome to the Oldbulls. Your story is very similar to many on this site, so you should fit right in nicely.
I gave MX a go again last year on a KTM250SX 2 banger, wrong thing to do after many years out of the saddle when you are on the shady side of 40!! I had fun but couldn’t move the following week.
good to see another Queenslander join, you guys have nearly enough up there to start your own chapter and start your own ride gatherings.
Cheers
MickYeah I might as well get a set for the big red pig.
