The 530 came standard with hand guards but no bash plate.KTM were gunna send a bash plate out when they became available, obviously they never became available as we never saw one!!!
The hand guards didn’t offer the protection of the Barkbusters, so they were fitted and have stood up well and look trick.
The thing sounds sweet with the Akro, maybe a bit loud for some peoples likings, but where we ride, noise isn’t really a concern. My brother bought the pipe in Japan for about $700 as opposed to the extortionate prices being asked here in Australia.
We checked the valves at 50hrs and they were all still in spec, the bike just hit 100hrs on the weekend and it is running better now than when it was new in my opinion. So I don’t see the need for a top end in the near future.Gday Mr Blue,
Alas the North coast has another member, we have regular rides in the Wauchope area (most weekends), so if you are keen for a ride with us, say so and you’d be made more than welcome.
Sorry Tiny the macs I am referring to, only come in Apple flavour… Ha Ha HA. Someone give me Karma please cause that wuz funny ….
Don’t worry about the Mac, that is the only thing I have in common with the rodent. Macs are gooooood. again Goooood ask KTMRAT he’s a mac man.

So what did you reckon to 530 compared to the XR?
On the grounds I may dig a deeper hole for my self I will refrain from answering that.
Na stuff it……..The 530 is a weapon and I enjoyed every second on it!!!Now I will have to spend several hours working on it getting it ready for the next ride. There I said it.
Read my report in the KTM section if you want to know my thoughts on the beast.Good call Moto, I rode the 08KTM530 all weekend as it was in the tight stuff, so my XR600 got the weekend off.Man I wish it had a magic button.
So did you go back for the subsequent years or had the beers taken their toll? Maybe a regulation to wear egg shaped highly aerodynamic helmets put you off?
Thanks Shane, you don’t ride anymore??
Yeah I went back the following year and still did well and won several events but the old dickie knee gave me some trouble and then I crashed in the 30km road race and drilled my self and decided I would do something safer like dirt biking.Ha ha
I still ride it around town and when mates are at my place and we have had a few beers as it is always good for a laugh……..Ay Zippo?moto wrote:

If it is still going OK, just put up with it!!!Trailboss wrote:

How’d I get into penny farthing racing??
I rode it for a job at Timbertown at Wauchope for 5 years and naturally got pretty good at it and they suggested I have a go at the Australian P.F championships in Tasmania. I saw it as a holiday and got bit of a shock they take it really seriously and there was guys from all over theworld there wanting to win!! So I kicked their arses and after the race sat down and had a beer and a smoke while they had their space food sticks and gatorade. Ha ha.Mate if the greenies want to have a go at anyone they should look at the 4×4 boys as they are stuffing the tracks up this way, oh yeah and the bloody horse riders, who’s horses shit grain seed everywhere in the bush.
I wonder if I have set record at DBW???
I’ve made one post and it got deleted, so they can shove it.AFAIACI thought about deleting the link to DBW considering they deleted our link but saw that as being petty, as we are supposed to be one big dirt bike community with the one common interest. Arent we???
What do you reckon guys?? DBW need to have some cement I think. -
