The helmet is normally a standard rule but they wanted some pics for their Facebook page. Otherwise, no lid no ride.
I am not sure that I even want to restore it. It is pretty cool as it is. I might get the seat recovered though.
No Fester, she doesn’t have the dual range box in it, as it was the street going version not the ag model.

Funny you should say that LC, my young bloke actually delivers brochures and suggested that it would be good for that.
Happy birthday, you valley of doom leading, ex tit pulling, DRZ riding, goat shagging, X-Raying, Patrol driving, possum baiting, trail blazing, Tamworth dwelling mate of Boony.
Bugger!! I have a reasonable set up, as far as sheds go.
But I have also seen Bull’s shed and that blows me clean out of the water!
Trailboss wrote:Sensible answer short Bollocks, your Honda has radiators the same size as your WR did. Your WR is probably half worn out no where near as much compression as the 450 thus creates more heat and faster. You need to keep moving, turn it off straight away when stopped. Check your radiator cap, good quality coolant and make sure the cores are clean.I see more KTMs boil than any other bike (it’s true not a lunge at them) we had trouble with the KTM530 I have been riding when Steve first got it. It boiled the first time in the singles when Steve rode it and I was on the XR. It had a fan and was still boiling, I changed the coolant, replaced the near new cap because it wasn’t holdin pressure. It have been riding it since, it’s never boiled. Turn it off as soon as you stop avoid long idle periods and ignore Eagle
post up in tech help next times
TB
.
As much as I enjoy disagreeing with TB, he is on the money here. Try a 1.6 radiator cap and avoid long idle periods.
Gday powderman,
Thanks for the intro, Lucas Heights isn’t that far from Menai if my memory serves me correct, we have a few members down that way, that ride on a regular basis.Going on your intro, you have definitely found the right site.
Cheers
MickDon’t take any notice of the resident idiots around here. :pinch:
Welcome to OBT and thanks for the intro. XR riders are always welcome!! (And treated with the up most respect.) :woohoo:
Your XR will still be going fine, when their shit boxes will be long dead.
Cheers
MickShit!! I thought the heading said “KTM riders like sheep”. I expected a thread about Boony’s antics.
Good find though. Funny stuff. :woohoo:
Hey Travis,
Welcome to OBT. The Scrapheap ride was great fun and it was good to meet you. It will be interesting to see what went wrong with the DRZ. Plenty of DRZ knowledge on here, so just ask away if you need to know something.
Cheers
MickLooking forward to the report. Pity I couldn’t make it but on the upside, I am seriously cashed up in the “brownie points dept”
It’s OK Boony, I moved your thread to the right section.
Welcome to OBT Cas, thanks for the intro. I am at Wauchope so no doubt we will cross paths soon.
Cheers
MickGood work Rat, I wish I had’ve had the time to do the resto on that bike. I am glad it is in good hands.
Cheers

OLD Bulls Birthday ride will be perfect… last time i did it I was camping with 40 blokes and it was ‘interesting’……bring ear plug… and a shit load of rum/coke to drown out the dribble (‘interesting’ discussion around the camp fire). It becomes swa-hill-i but funnily enough you can make it out….. only just.
We are riding this Sunday up central coast…. if interested PM me….
Kat
What are you trying to say Kat?? You camped next to me at that ride…… Do I snore?? Or was it Ollie from 200 meters away?? :S :pinch:
Anyhow, welcome to OBT Flying Fish. Thanks for the intro and I hope you stay active on the site.
Cheers
MickMick… thankfully I drank enough rum to also contribute to the snore-fest. I still can’t get out of my head the look of Ollie the next morning after his early morning bush walk (toilet stop) and being covered in prickle bush thingy’s…… that was priceless.
Yeah that was priceless. Just another special OBT moment though, considering the crazy antics I have seen over the years by being a member here.

MickI spoke to Daniel at Whipps Alloy this morning and they are donating some Alloy goodies. Details to be confirmed but expect to see a ramp or two and some bike stands.
