It definitely makes you feel inferior. But its good to see he still hits the deck like US.
Miles Davis from BMW throws them around pretty well too. Ive seen videos of him in the desert as well, he’s no slouch.Mick

Quote:Their are always 12v to 240v invertors which are fine to charge from .They are alright if they are sinewave inverters, modified square wave inverters can fry some electrical gear. You would need a fair bit of battery capacity to charge all the gear and run some lights etc.

The SXC does not have a cush drive hub on the rear wheel as it is supposedly a more competition model for the dirt. If ridden on tar a lot without installing a cush drive hub the SXC gearbox is prone to shitting itself.
I have ridden Gavb’s 640 Adventure and it is quite smooth and very tall on its centre stand. Its like riding on a Jason recliner — sooo comfy. :cheer:Mick

Quote:Well my B&B rear rack arrived today and has solved all my luggage problems, I had an issue with the saddlebags being to close to the exhaust or too close to my legs when standing. With the rack fitted it allows me to move the bags back and its wide enough to leave plenty of room from the pipeThe picture below is with everything I will be taking on this trip loaded on the bike , and after a test ride and a couple of jumps to try and shake it off I can say its a success
The only thing that will be different is the tie downs will be replaced with Andy Strapz, their will be an air hawk and screen.
The saddlebags have clothes and toiletries in one side and camping stuff ,spares, waterproofs and thermals in the other
The rear waterproof bag has tent, sleeping bag, mattress, pillow and seat
Hi Nick,
the load looks nice and compact. Lotsa and I both have the small cruiser air hawks which work greatThey taper in at the front and dont get in the way at all when standing and working on the bike.
Have you got photos of the super tent and gear yet.
Lotsa got one of the screens from the link that was posted earlier, but I’m not sure what he thinks about it at the moment. I think he was going to adjust it to see if it worked better.Mick
Happy birthday Justo, hope its a great day for you.

The support vehicle will have 3 Jerry cans as a back all trip but it will be needed between topping up at Pine View and Camerons Corner.TB
Well I received a fast reply from Pineview Station here below
Dear GregThank you for your enquiry, yes we do have fuel here that can be purchased @ $2/litre
We can also offer accomodation, shearers quarters @ $15 /head if you wish, I have also done meals for groups travelling through if you are interested, I do need advance notice though.Just wondering which way you may be arriving from as the ride through Silverton from Broken Hill is quite interesting as is the one along the Corona road past Mt. Gipps.
Also I can recommend a few places further North of us for accomodation/etc if you would like.(Theldarpa Station, Cameron Corner)Cheers
Jen
I will reply with our route and see if Jen has some ideas. $2 a litre I actually thought it would have been dearer to tell the truthTB
Sounds good, a decent? bed and shower would be good on occassions.
Mick
Ditto here please

Quote:I decided to see if the 28 ltr Safari tank which I bought for my DRZ 12 months ago actually fitted the bike. I have never needed it until now and thought I might be a good time to see if it was actually made for a DRZ :huh:After a bit of persuasion the big tank was on and looking very beefy
I filled it to the brim and it was bang on 28 ltr, I was starting to wonder how an extra 20 kg would feel and handle. My first impressions when I wheeled the bike out of the shed were ‘bugger ,this feels way heavier than normal’
I went for a very slow steady lap of my farm and within 100m was banging up the gears and feeling very confident indeed, I rode down to the gravel road at the end of the drive and pinned it . This is great news no negative difference at all and if anything the wind is deflected away from the legs by the flared front of the tank :woohoo: :woohoo:
The tank messing up the bikes handling has been quietly playing in the back of my mind since I got in on this trip so I’m now well happy
Have a ride of yer bike with all the gear loaded on the back as well, you will defintely notice a big difference. On our ride yesterday I could notice the difference with the rear end not sliding as much and the front seeming to plough a bit in softer corners. Also the bike tended to want to do wheelies all too easy if you got a bit carried away with the right wrist with so much weight at the rear of the bike :woohoo:
But I would think we would be taking it more steady on the corner ride :silly:The air hawk seats work a treat, Wayne can also vouch for that. Use only the minimum amount of air in them so the seat height is really no taller and when you stand up the airhawk is out of the road towards the rear of the seat, you dont know its there until you sit down again for a soft landing. After doing 2 rides of 425km and 500km and no sore ass :woohoo:
The rest of the body was complaining though, but a few of Krusty’s tampons will fix that  :laugh:Mick
