I have seen this happen on a few occasions where the chain has been run too tight and as the shock compresses the chain tightens and causes the hub to crack. :S

I bought a new 2 man tent for the trip the other day from Kangaroo tent city at the bargain price of $35 (hope it doesn’t rain)
Packs down to about 600mm long and weighs 2.7kg
Put it up in the back yard todayShould keep the mozzies out at least

Well Saturday and Sunday then :silly:
I’d prefer Saturday 28th at this stage.
TB and Krusty (and anyone) can you make Saturday 28 Aug???[/quote]
He needs some bikes with big tanks to go with him.
I hope you have your big tank by then or the supertanker may have to supply fuel again  :laugh:Mick

Well not for me at least, following lotsa it soon became apparent that speed zones were advisory only and didn’t really apply to us.I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN, HE WILL HAVE TO SLOW DOWN SOON AS HE IS RUNNING OUT OF POINTS
Butt is a bit sore but that will teach me to sit down all day. I was running 14/42 gearing and sat on 120 to 130 all the way home on the freeway, I think if I were to be a lot of travelling at those speeds I would probably go to a 15 front (tip for the cc crew
)
AIRHAWK WILL FIX THAT
Sounds like a good day out. NEXT TIME

Looks good Nick.. I would take them for a good flogging to make sure they hold up well…
Does your misses want to make a set for me?
I will be giving them a good test run asap, they are very secure but the hardest part is keeping the straps etc away from the exhaust
I don’t think the missus would be too keen to adapt another set it gave her a bit of grief!
Hi Nick,
You will have to make sure they are really, really secure. When Lotsa & I went for a ride last weekend to meet up with Krusty, TB & Kat one of the straps on a pannier I had on the bike (not the bags I am taking to the corner – ordered Andy Strapz) tore the stitching away and spread the contents for 20km down the track and then the bag came off and I didn’t even know till I pulled up. It was quite a rough section of track though with the bags bouncing around.
Next time they will have extra security straps around them.Wheres the photos of the new tent and gear. How thick does the matress expand.

I saw these the other day and thought of Lotsa suffering from withdrawal symptoms of not being able to get a fix of his Yuppee coffee on the corner ride and thought this might be the go for him.
TB will be carrying Bundys and Lotsa Cafe Latte

I was only talking to Lotsa about that deal a couple days ago saying what a good deal it is. All you do is order it then ride :woohoo: All the work is already done by the experts.

Mick I just double and triple checked the whole Adventure Moto site mate and they dont have Andy Strapz gear  They have Wolfman did you mean
All my Andy Strapz gear I have purchased from Andy Strapz direct
TB
Yeh, your’e right TB – being on night shift does tend to confuse one as Jeffro is finding. I confused it with Vince Strang’s, he has both types of bags on his site :S
I’m going to bed now :silly:Mick

Quote:I may still get some though, I have been reading about problems with the Aluminium panniers in the soft going and getting your heals caught under them as you try and paddle your way out of the sand or mud. Maybe keep them for on road or more moderate rides and get the soft ones for the other stuff. The other advatage of soft panniers is they expand and flex to suit what you stuff into them instead of the other way around. The metals ones don’t keep thier shape very well if you hit the ground a bit hard. Not that I think you will drop it Jeffro

What is everyone doing for bags? Who is buying what? should we try and do some sort of bulk deal with the same and/or separate model bags?
Lets start a list and see who can provide us with a deal eh?
Krusty – Leaning towards the Wolfman Enduro E10 from Adventure moto
Lotsa – Leaning towards the Wolfman Expedition saddle bags and frames package
Nickj – ?? Have you decided? You seemed to be leaning towards Enduro series last time we chatted?
Others???
I’m leaning towards Andy strapz saddle bags, from what I have been told the Wolfman expedition bags are not waterproof??? They look like they shoud be. If you get ahole or cut in the bags you have to glue repair them :S :S
Adventure moto also sells Andys gear, so could probably do a deal with them if we all buy at the same time. I’m ready to buy whenever.Mick
Guys, got home about 6.30pm after a 425km round trip – and no sore butt thanks to Marks airhawk seat he lent me to try. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Brief ride details
Lotsa and I met at Braithwaite Park at the back of Wyong at 7.30am and headed out to meet the rest of the gang via Ourimbah State Forest, Yarramalong, Cedar Creek, Murrays Run, Laguna and across the Yengo Track ( a couple of times looking for lost gear) to the Putty Rd.
South down Putty Rd to the Commission Rd which we followed through until we came to the California Trail which took us through to Bulga for lunch at 2pm.
After lunch and a refuel we headed south down the Putty to Milbrodale where we took off onto the Old Bulga Rd which took us back onto the Putty Rd again. Continuing south we took the Settlers trail through to Wollombi, Laguna, Yarramalong and back to Braithwaite Park where we split up and headed for home and a hot shower.More details later
