If anyone else is interested in buying a new safari tank, I will probably get one for my 690 and they advertise if you buy 2 tanks and pay for them at the same time they give a discount??? Dont know how much discount but if anyone else is interested I will give them a ring and find out what the deal is.

There seems to be a lot of that going on around here at the moment.
A friends sons KTM530 was stolen out of their garage late one afternoon while they were having tea about 6 weeks ago. They saw it dissappear up the road and haven’t seen it since.  No insurance and he had borrowed the money to buy the bike.

Thats the nain reason I have my trail bikes insured, not in case I hit someone. For about $300 comp. cover with Insure my ride it is much less worry.

I cant afford a steering dampener, so I will fill my head stem full of water about a fortnight before and then tighten up the bearing preload in the head set and that should stop any tank slappers

Champ on the maintenance plan you have and having found two sets of rooted steering heads on bikes in your shed I would say you have that under control

If your nice someone with a damper on a 650 might let you fit his from his bike as he isnt riding it on this trip. No holes need be drilled its all bolt on and takes about 30 mins

I thought the round trip to Wauchope would take longer than 30 mins TB. :silly:

At this stage I’m in Gav, will probably need more info on the start point though, street, nearest intersection or something.

Guys it appears that the meeting place is now called Braithwaite Park after checking on Google maps(probably to avoid the confusion with the residential area adjacent to Westfield centre at Tuggerah called Woodbury).

The park is at the intersection of Yarramalong Rd and Old maitland Rd. B)

    See yas there

They had one on display at the Superbike races at Phillip Island in March. Looked pretty good up close. From memory the weight was about 240kg dry compared to the BMW 1200GS at about 205kg dry for the basic bike then ++++ for all the extras.
