March 28, 2012 at 11:22 pm in reply to: Mickp’s Haunted Stream/Billy Goats Bluff ride at Dargo #218938Well, what can I say. Mark has provided an excellent report as usual.
He was our defacto roving photographer / reporter for the weekend. He had snapped about 50 photos before we reached Kens place in Jindabyne and the bikes were still on the trailer. :silly:He took about 600 photos over the 4 days of riding and that was limited because of
A) his memory card was full or
the camera battery was flat or
C) he culled photos to make room for other shotsI would like to thank Mark and Ray (with his local knowledge) for their help in working out tracks to ride on the weekend. Dargo Dan (from the General Store) had been in hospital prior to our arrival and could not assist us beforehand. He was very apologetic on Sunday when we finally caught up to him for not being able to help us out with the tracks. He only got out of hospital on Friday arvo and was running around helping people out with drowned and damaged bikes on Sat. when he was supposed to be resting in bed.
A big thanks to Ken for allowing us to use his place as the base for our ride and accommodating us all. A top weekend away with a great group of blokes who worked as a team to get everyone through.
Here are a few of my photos of the weekend

Ummmm I am sure Mick has repaired the rear and or braced his. The sales people are saying the rear of the bike won’t take it
BTW Krusty the thread title should be blue, red and yellow shouldn’t it
As you were then

Yeh I have modified the pannier racks from original to be similar to the current KTM/Touratech pannier frames that have twin supports running up from the pillion foot peg mounts the same as Eagle & Deanos.
My bike had the early type rack with a single support tube that didn’t like jumping erosion humps with all the gear loaded on and started to crack. Tryhard has modified his older style racks as well to prevent failure on a ride. 😆Mickp
Krusty wrote:No worries boys… The thread is about Orange!!!
Isn’t about how you setup and modify the bike for how you want to ride it and where you want to take it in the end?
You have hit the nail on the head there Krusty. Its all about what suits you and what you want to do with it.
You should have lots of fun with the 350 – set up the suspension for your weight etc is the most important thing with the PDS rear end.
Have fun and be safe

Yeh Rocket
not so much worried about the speedo as the GPS tells me the speed, max speed, time moving, aver. moving speed, aver. speed overall, direction, altitude, latitude, longitude, distance travelled etc, etc and also tells me where it is I am LOST.The Vapour has speedo, trip meter, odometer, Tacho, ambient temp, engine temp, clock, stop watch, temp warning lights etc, etc :woohoo:
Still, the speedo is handy help keep constable plod from pulling you up when coming in to built up areas.
Mickp
I have modified the set up on the DR650 project Kazuki, similar to the one you have seen TB
Just waiting for the Vapour speedo to arrive so I can finish off the fit out and install the grip heaters switch as well
Mick
Happy birthday guys

Trailboss wrote:Normally I would be in but I am going up there later in the month. I have been but onto some tracks to come back on the west side of the New England Hwy. So I will go up via Yengo, Commision, Barry Station, Moonan Flat, Upper Rouchel, Albano Rd, Nundle and north. Back the new wayEnjoy and ride safe
TB
I’d be interested to see how those tracks go. I went up with mark1957 along some dirt roads north of Denman last year and ended up at Kootingal pub.
Last time I spoke to mark1957 a few weeks ago he thought the Martindale track is still closed since the track was repaired last yearWe should have had a look down there last week while we were up that way

I’ll have to keep teasing him with rides on Kazuki to keep him motivated (shit I organised the new forks for him)
