I had a go over some pretty rough ground up hill and down and it seemed pretty good even uder heavy breaking and it did’nt bottom over erosion mounds not big air but I’m no Robbie Maddison. Maybe He has had the forks and shock done. The steering is not as sharp as my mates 06 ktm 250F but not buy much!
Thats a stuffin big dog mate. whats it cost to feed that a week?
OK finally got a chance to pull the clutch out ( forgot to take photos) and all the plates where fine. I put it all back in and took the cable off and oiled and inspected it wacked it back on and readjusted it tho find the same problem still existed. After some cursing and foot swingin I got on the phone and spoke to near every yamaha person in the universe and came to this! customers were’nt happy with the plates in earlier models ( they where paper friction plates same as TTR 250 apparantly they slipped a bit so they put the cork plates in the 07/08 model and as a result after a short life they start to stick a problem they have fixed for 09. TTR 250 clutch plates are $140 and will fix the problem for the average joe and there is the Barnett clutch kit for $240 which will do a far superior job for the money. So now I just have to wrestle the missus for her purse to get the job done
Cheers Slug, Yeah it is 03 dont no wear I got 02 from
Mate I got down to the shed took the bashplate off put the oil tray under the bike…..then the handbrake shadowed the doorway with a grim look on her face and the kids fighting and carrying on behind her! end of story. I’m hopeing to get onto it through this week I will take some pics of the op
Have ya spoken to ya local alloy fabricator if they are quite you should get one done at reasonable dollars.
The Force accessories looks the goods http://www.forceaccessories.com.au/Page/products/FA005YA02.htm I need to invest in a bash plate myself and there radiator gaurds are the biz:)
Nice ride:) How is it they design a bike to do big ks and they dont put a seat designed to do the same?
I even tried a trailer with a stainless frame and a alloy body with rivets through rubber gaskets that wears out too as the holes oversize. For plug and play simplicity with no maintanance you cant go past a simple steel trailer that has been galvanised.
Mate alloy trailers are a bitch they may be light but the biggest cause of stresss on alloy is viration and twisting which a trailer cops a lot of and you will be forever getting it welded up
Spoke Millsy and it was`his old man that had that 8b5 with the anled front with the 3 wheel chanels in it and 3 bikes fitted perfect
I’ve seen an 8 by 5 with the front of the tray angled fowards with wheel indents in it looked good and versitile
hey did ya notice if they sold that maxima tft oil they mention on the site?
Thought about it a couple of times but not yet! let us know how it goes.
Yeah sounds good as long as it is clean. I thought I’d save some money and make my own when I scored an axle with hubs rims and springs. Including getting it hot dipped its gonna work out to cost almost 7hunge. If I worked that out when I started I would’ve just bought one
