You must be Moto’s mate Darren? I’m his Uncle, welcome to Old Bull.

took him out for his first spin around Kenilworth yesterday :) did a gentle 115ks with only a few incidents  anyway enjoy the site.

Are you going to come up for the Noosa ride later in the year?

    Hey Pikey
As Jeffro said with the feeler gauge or plastic shim.
If they are still leaking and if they are 48mm bring them around with new seals and oil.
What year is she? I’ll try and do a bit of research to find out oil level/air gap and if there is a special spanner for the top. Don’t take them out of the bike until you loosen the top tripple clamp and loosen the top fork nut. May need a special spanner.???
Let us know how you go
    Cheers

Hey Murph, if they are the same as the 450 there are no special tools required, first just loosen the top nut while the legs are in the clamp, take the legs out , unscrew the outer tube and drain the oil then pull the spring down enough to get a spanner[17mm i think] on the nut at the top of the rod, then get another spanner on the top fork nut and undo, this will allow the spring to come out.
Take the dust seal off and undo the circlip which will allow the leg to be removed so the seal can be replaced, then start the rebuild.
I think the oil level is around 120mm .
Don’t undo the allen bolt in the bottom of the leg and take it apart that way as it’s a lot easier this way.
The 450s are 48mm toubs so if the 250s are smaller the oil height might be different.
    Hope this helps ;) ;) ;)
