Bloody hell Nick,Noosa one weekend Nundle the next
what a life eh
Hope your not carrying too many bumps and bruises from last weekend :whistle:moto wrote:I hope I can ride as good as him in 40 years when I’m his ageCheeky bastard
micknmeld wrote:Nice video Nick! Looks like some great trails up that way, that hill at the end looks like a right bastard!Your dead right Mick that hill is a real bastard
I surprised the boys by not letting on that we were coming up to it and they both came to greif as the video shows  but I was impressed that they both gave it another crack
its not for the faint hearted.
When we restarted we were heading into one of the best sections of the ride, some very sweet tracks with good size challenging hills both up and down and virtually no dust even after 2 months without rain
.
I was enjoying this part and guessing by the hooting and hollering coming from behind me :woohoo: so was everyone else, however, that was due to change as we got closer to Pig Hill  this hill creeps up on you and all of a sudden we were there  i was up with Spud right up my clacker ,but he had a lot more speed thah me and as I searched for a lower gear I heard him shouting for me to keep going , I did but not quick enough and Spud hit the deckbut he was well over the hard part so a victory was claimed
.
As I parked and turned round to see what was going on, the hill was littered with red bikes  (as per STMs first video), once the red team had made their way down Damo on the shiny new 6day Kato started his attempt, all was looking good until he was knocked off line and had to drop the 6day :woohoo: his next go was a nice clean ride to the top.
You could sense a few nerves at the bottom as Tom fired up , he set off for a big run up and came back into view with a lot of pace and proceded to make the pig look easy cruising to the top with easewell done mate.
I don’t think Nick and Scott were looking forward to another go but bouyed on by the crew at the top STM lined up,hit it, but got knocked off line and as he tried to keep going the front wheel started to rise  but then stalled and came to a halt giving the new CRF a few scars.
Nick then had his go and gave it a big effort before coming unstuck on a difficult part of the hill leading to a nasty hit for the bike, however they both had the guts to have another go on a very intimidating hill, well done guysmike wrote:SaturdayAfter an early start and very little sleep for me
we got round to having brekkie then slowly got changed into our riding gear, I had sensed a mood of expectation after yesterdays wicked loop and was a bit unsure if todays loop was going to ok  .
We rode out of the campsite, 200metres down the road and turned into the forest then within 50metres tunred left up an endless hill that always gets the armpump going  following the track over the hillside and down the other side which is as rocky as it gets, I stopped after about 5ks to see if everyone was warmed up
We followed the mainly single but fairly technical track for another 15ks or so before hitting a transport section to link us with the next forestContinued
We started with a drop into a normally wet creek but at the moment being dry it posed no problems to the crew
this led to a run through a fast flowing twin track section where everyone could get into a rythm and twist the throttle a bit
everytime I looked round to leave a corner man there was a huge roar followed by an even bigger dust cloud, the boys were on it :woohoo: :woohoo: eventually this track took us to a sweet tight single through a pine forest ending with a nasty rocky shit of a hill that is like riding on marbles :S :S I was up and onto the next corner but when looking back to leave a cornerman there was no one  Damo came along soon after telling me theior was carnage on the
hill
After a few minutes the crew had gathered again so we moved on, and on riding round the next corner we were greeted by the smoko girls :woohoo: who had set up a pit tent with a bbq going and drinks on handmany thanks to my wife Andrea and Damo’s wife Marnie for the effort they put in it was awesome
and much appreciated.

Saturday
After an early start and very little sleep for me
we got round to having brekkie then slowly got changed into our riding gear, I had sensed a mood of expectation after yesterdays wicked loop and was a bit unsure if todays loop was going to ok  .
We rode out of the campsite, 200metres down the road and turned into the forest then within 50metres tunred left up an endless hill that always gets the armpump going  following the track over the hillside and down the other side which is as rocky as it gets, I stopped after about 5ks to see if everyone was warmed up
We followed the mainly single but fairly technical track for another 15ks or so before hitting a transport section to link us with the next forestWell i’v got to say a BIG thanks to the 3 guys that travelled up here to help make it a classic old bull trailriding weekend, bringing the character, fun and laughter that these weekends are known for
.
STM,Nickj, and Spud along with Damo and Tom all chipped in to make it an awesome event
which started on Friday with a phone call from Nick who was already in Noosa,to say Spud was over the Gateway bridge at Brissy by 8.30am   closely followed by STM at 9am.
With the boys going at this pace we were looking at being on the bikes and riding by 1pm,when i got to the campsite at Imbil with Stm and Damo we were greeted by Nick and Spud who had our site set up with us just having to put the tents up then get changed into riding gear
.
The conditions were dry and sunny with the inevitibility of dust on the tracks
the loop i had planned was changed at the last minute(while riding into the forest from the campsite  ) and went off on another track which had mainly singles into some fast sweeping twin track,a couple of decent downhills and a couple of good sized uphills got the guys into the swing of it
this was followed by a small run down some forest tracks into a nice uphill single section loop that returned onto the forest track a bit farther dowrn the road :silly:
There was a good pace being run and everyone had a story of railing turns, fast whoops that Spud seemed to find to his liking by doubling up some whoops and even tail whipping the opposite direction to the track :woohoo:
We then entered probably one of the best single track sections on the coast which goes on for around 12ksthis was done in one go with no stops and all at a VERY good pace :silly: :silly: when we got to the end we were all beaming about how awesome it was :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: that good we went and did it again
We then went from fast singles over to a hilly area where we played for another half hour by which time everyone was in need of a beer   so a quick ride out of the forest past the campsite about three ks to show the guys the Borumba Dam in perfect condition with minimal chop for the people out skiing
We headed back to the campsite ,parked tyhe bikes and changed into boardies grabbed a coldie and walked 50metres to the river and jumped in to cool downand f++k was it cold 😆 😆
Much bench racing followed into the night with some food cooked on one of Spuds awesome pot belly cookers
and a good number of beers, we later hit the sack in preparation for Saturdays loop

This is good viewing Stevo keep it coming mate
Nickj- Yes Damo is definately riding mate,he’s keen as especially now that he’s got one of these 450 six day kato’s
Moto- it would be awesome if you could get here mate  is Darren on standby as well?
Spud- I don’t know where you live but that does seem to be giving you plenty of time
My mobile no: 0405 208 135 if anyone has a problem with directions etc,
Ok guys here’s some directions (if needed).
Follow the Bruce Highway towards Gympie and look for a big sign on the left hand side for Borumba Deer Park then take left down Kenilworth/Skyring Creek Road heading for Imbil, follow for approx 5ks then take right hand turn up Tuchekoi Road(still signposted Imbil).
Follow until you get to T junction then turn left up Gympie / Brooloo Road for about 5ks then take right hand turn at Yabba Creek Road, stay on this road through the village of Imbil for about 8ks and Borumba Deer Park is on the left.
Borumba Deer Park
Yabba Creek Road
ImbilThink we are looking at riding on the friday around 1ish.
We can head up to the pub on Saturday after the ride for something to eat, but bring some snacks/bbq stuff for Friday night.
There is fuel in Imbil and a shop but they only sell 95 octane , so if you want 98 you will need to fill up at a servo on the highway.
Saturday we will stop for fuel/something to eat, part way round
Think thats all except BRING IT ON :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:Nickj- Thanks a lot for getting them onto the post
they were taken on my phone so they are’nt the best quality
Moto- Yes thats the ones mate and you dont want to be going any further than where I am   it’s a big drop off on that side  :S
Spud-Its a long way from where we are staying so fuel would be an issue mate, but don’t worry Spud i’v got a few good bits up my sleeve 😆 😆
A bit of good news is its been RAINING today with more forecast for early next week :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: then a perfect weekend
Nickj wrote:Epic FailGot to use photobucket mate
