Great little vid Scott, was good to see some blue sky  it’s been pi##ing down here all week
should be good for a ride next weekend though :cheer:
Not my cup of tea either
the red one in the backgrounds more to my liking :woohoo: but enjoy it mate
Got back to a cloudy but warm Sunshine coast after an early departure time from the camp site(looked all quiet in Boonys cabin as we went past
)started to clean things up and found it bloody hard to get that Coffs dirt off the bike
but after a while it started to clean up, lucky my bike is far from showroom condition so it did’nt quite matter as much  Tom on the other hand looks like he’s out in the shed for a while 😆 .
As everyone has said in their posts STM and Nickj did a superb job in keeping 40 blokes entertained with excellent riding, organizing, and socializing with some great blokes
It will be too long to wait till next year for another ride with the Old Bulls so might have to find something else as well
The whole Qld group had way too much to drink on Friday night and were late for the briefing at 8am in the morning :silly: the heads did’nt feel right for at least 2 hours into the ride :silly: Scott put a great loop for us and with the conditions bieng perfect, you could’nt help but enjoy them, luckily by the time we got to the widowmaker I was feeling good 😆
the afternoon loop was just as good with drying conditions we smashed the loop in good time with Nickj setting a good pace
Hope RCHonda has a quick recovery from what sounded like a real bad incident.
Highlights for me were obviously the riding ,the company , Factory Phil’s Rossi impression on Saturday night had me cracked up    ,Crash’s determination to get up the Widowmaker after 4 attempt’s (I think),Bollock’s doing the auction on Sat night
but overall a great weekend meeting some great people
Thanks everyone
Yeah happy b’day Ollie will see you at coffs again mate next week
Scotty I’m going to have a word with my mate the site manager and get you put on the payroll   mate the amount of publicity you have given them is huge
and with this looking like it’s going to be an annual thing, it might cover the time off that your going to need to improve the event next year if thats possible  you really are setting the bar high again
Good on ya
Nice work Scott, your a legend
Only just found this thread and how awesome it is :cheer: you have created yourself a job within a job Bol
Keep the posts coming mate, Im sure there’s a lot of old bulls looking for that elusive, rare machine out there and I recon your the man to find it
Keep up the good work
Hey Corey
Iv recently fitted one to my WR and think its a real worthwhile purchase
lots of good info and not too hard to fit, all the stuff comes with it and the instructions are good too, well worth the money
Looks like its going to be awesome Scotty
even better than last year and that was bloody good
cant wait to see my old mate the campsite manager again after our chat last time
I was wondering if the homebrew was going to come out again :silly: :silly:
The countdown is on and like everyone else the Sunshine Coast crew cant wait :woohoo: :woohoo:
Hi Scotty,
Mate could you please add Me, Tommo, Damo, and Greenmike to the ride friday and dinner friday night as well. Sorry for the late reply haven’t checked out this post for quite some time.
Cheers Mike
Hey Riggs, I was talking to my mate who’s just bought his 2010 450 and had a boil over on the first ride and he’s keen to buy a fan kit as well, could you let me know where you got it from in the states
and i can pass it on to him,
Thanks
Mike
This all sounds too familiar, my son Tom had an 08 530excr and we went through 4 months of problems with overheating which started with an overheat in the middle of a ride this April(so not even hot weather).
This happened a few times before realising we had a bigger problem, I stripped it down to find a blown head gasketput a new one in and re-assembled it,checking all the other radiator components to make sure nothing was blocked or obstructed then carried on with the rebuild.
Come the weekend went out and did 270ks without a problemthen 5Ks from home it boiled over again  this time I pressure tested the rad cap, tested the thermostat and nothing  took it for another short ride up the road and it boiled over again
stripped it down again to find the head gasket gone again   , took the head and barrel to be checked for warpage where the machine shop skimmed both surfaces by the finest amount, another head gasket and off we go again only to have the same thing happen once more    this time it was repaired then traded in for a new ever reliable WR
:cheer:
I do think the Kato’s have an underlying problem with overheating, I’v got 2 mates with 2010 450s and both have had boil overs and one was on his first ride on saturday just gone  My advice would be to fit a fan, check the thermostat even look into fitting an overflow bottle  because you don’t want it to happen too often. We were down there at Easter and on STM’s word we took a drive up to Bellingen and Dorigo and thought it would have some fantastic riding, just looks awesome country for riding
If Scotts ride wasnt so close I would of loved to get down there for a weekend in the forests :woohoo:
maybe next time
Have funGood report Menace
Nice to see my young  nephew out on his bike again something he needs to be doing a lot more of.
I’m sure one day he will bring it up here for a ride before I get too old
Nice bit of track there Scotty
looking forward to heading down some more like that
although I dont know if I can keep up with you anymore
you were flying mate
