Stevo its tom using dads profile, mate tell you what i played with the suspension and set it back to whats standard in the manual for my weight and that. Also i lifted the front forks up about 10mm in the mounts and also added that ignition curve switch. Tell you what mate took it out for a big ride at amamoor yesterday and it feels like a totally different bike aye, its the first time ive actually enjoyed riding it. The power it has is awesome, it was the suspension and not having any confidence in the front end that was just tiring me, it always felt like i was just fighting it rather than riding it. Im going to keep it now, as far as this popping goes we’ve got the 45 pilot in it now and its made it a bit better but its still doing it a bit. I turned the fuel screw out 2 turns and it refused to start out in the middle of the forest yesterday, so ive turned the fuel screw back in to 1.5 turns now and it starts and runs great but its still pops on no throttle just above idle revs. Not sure if you can get rid of it completly i guess maybe dropping the needle again my affect that rev range. It seems to be a ktm thing though from people i know up here with katos.
Hey Murph
Thanks for that mate we had a play around with the jetting and that over the weekend, its now running the needle in the middle, 45 pilot and still the same 180 main jet with the fuel screw now 1 1/2 turns out. We’ve also sealed the headers with a high temp sealent its still pops a little but not as bad as it was, its running good now and starts fine so i think were gonna leave it as is now the popping seems to be a ktm thing from what ive heard.Yes we dropped the needle one notch and he fitted a switch to the bars so you can change the power mode, we could’nt get any jets over the weekend so the pilot is still the standard 40 and the fuel screw is out at 2.5turns, we will get some jets and have a play.
We went to Amamoor yesterday and he was grizzling about everything from arms aching to no grip then too much grip!!!!, we ended up swapping bikes for the rest of the day, he is much more confidant on the WR so the Kato’s looking like its mine Ha Ha HaThanks TB
and thanks for the birthday wishes
I think he might be in need of some strong painkillers after saturday
Good luck Crash you look pretty well prepared
a mate of mine is entered the event on his 520KTM which he RODE :woohoo: to the event from up here in Noosa, he left on Tuesday morning with all his gear on the bike with him  I spoke to him today(thurs am) and he said he was the only one there at that time.
Anyway if you guys get a chance to have a chat his name is Joe(no;46) he will be shitting himself by friday  :laugh:Thanks to you all for the birthday wishes, will be a good one this year with the four days to celebrate
Ollie….. looks like I will still be riding the old Yammy because the wife did’nt get me a new one today
Cheers lads
In the Darlington Park again same as last year.
The southern trips booked stm for the 26th april looking forward to it. Just need to persuade moto to bring a bike with him.
14/50 gearing seems pretty good sits on 80 in 5th now nicely and its a wheelie machine, not really helping the problem . Everythings pretty well healed up now so another week or two and he should be able to get back on the trails.Hey mick thanks for that its good to know, this one so far has 70 hours on it and sounds good so maybe its ok or has already been done. He’s really likeing it so far there an awesome machine with heaps of power.
Definately a loose cannon behind the bars  the gearing on the thing was 15-45 when he got it which was way too high, ok if you wanted to cruise down the road at 100mph but not much use in the forests
he’s now put 14-50 on it which we are led to believe is the best combination so all he’s waiting for now is
the wounds to healMight not help much because of the dates but I’m meeting moto in Coffs Harbour in April and might be able to bring it back for you as i live in Noosa ? , but thats still over a month away.
No worries mate good luck finding one, there good bikes.
Yea TB i just realised he’s looking for something in brisbane after i posted it . It is a shame as Motos had done so little work.
Mate saw your post, my nephews got an 2010 model for sale with with 900ks on it. Its listed in the for sale section just under where your post is.
Well this is a complete surprise to me as well  I know he loves the whole thing going on with Old Bull so he will definately be back
Scott…… As Stevo said we have booked into the same park again from April 26 for a week , I will be bringing my wife and daughter as well as my Dad(moto’s grandad) who is visiting from the UK. The intention was to get out for a ride with Stevo and maybe you depending on your availability, but not as much riding as in Sept.
I will speak to Stevo tomorrow and try and persuede him to keep a bike at least until after that weekend -
