If properly lubed at each tyre change quite a while. They do get soft in feel, at which point you can cut another section and add it in to help firm up the feel again.
The real value however is that they provide better grip and better rim protection when hitting square edge stuff at speed (air just compresses out the way on the other side of the tube) and you can’t possibly get a flat.
I never had a flat, ever, using UHD tubes but I still rate using mousses.

That GSXR was rapid! Much more rapid than the 750 you had in the UK that wasn’t much faster than my 1992 VFR400
I’ve had:
Italjet 50
Yamaya TY80
Yamaha TY250
Gas Gas JT350
Gas Gas JT270
Cagiva Mito 125 (Ducati 996 Replica) “The Hand grenade”
Honda VFR400
KTM 450
KTM 300
Husaberg 570
Triumph 675 Street Triple
Yamaha IT175
Yamaha XV750The VFR400 is up there with the best bike I’ve owned, along with the 450 Kato

Am I seeing this right. You have to rest your bike on a pillow because you don’t want the bashie to touch the lift stand?
I just received this response from the Australian distributor of Liquid Image regarding the waterproof case and use of GoPro mounts:
“we are waiting for an update from Liquid image for this. At this stage Waterproof case is due end of Sept, but mounts are TBC for sometime in October
The Ego will work with many go pro mounts by leaving the elbow bracket in the bottom of the Ego and then going into a Go Pro mount”
On Sunday for the Ourimbah rode it myself, LC4Skin and Adam. We met behind the servo at Westfield and jumped staright into the bush. The whole ride was fairly uneventful really as we punted through the bush at a decent pace.
We did get heckled by a grumpy land owner sat at the entrance to one of the trails off the fire road. A road runs through his property but apparently it’s a minesterial road and he can stop people riding it. That’s his side of the story anyway
I was very sore on Monday, all my muscles aching from the cramps on the Saturday ride. It was a good weekend all in all though and it’s always good to ride with a decent bunch of blokes
Surprisingly the LI EGO mount DOES NOT fit curved GoPro mount. However, it can be modified to fit. The issue is with the raised ridge than runs down the centre of the GoPro mount, it’s marginally wider than the corresponding tract in the EGO mount. It could easily be made to fit by either trimming the raised ridge on the GoPro mount or opening the tract in the EGO mount.
It’s a bit of a pain but would only take 5 minutes per mount. The hinged section with the screwed bolt looks the same as the GoPro also if you had the GoPro mount you could probably just swap that out. I’m sure Krusty can confirm this when he gets his pack of goodies.

Have you got the Mac fully RAM’d up?
I’ll try the GoPro mount I have on my helmet tonight mate and confirm one way or the other. It certainly looks the same.
No idea with regard to quality when using the waterproof case, I would assume it’s the same, pretty pointless otherwise.
I might get one, doubt I’ll use it unless I go kayaking or something though. I’ve never had a moment in a creek crossing and don’t really cross any big creeks so I’ll gamble. I’ll fall in one next weekend now, you wait and see!
The only other negative I can think of for the EGO is that it’s viewing angle is narrower than the GoPro. GoPro is 170 degrees whereas the EGO is 130 I think from memory. Again, no biggie for me or Lochie but if you’re keen on that widescreen look it may be a showstopper.
Trailboss wrote:Did I read somewhere the EGO isnt water proof?TB
It isn’t, only splashproof with the little plastic cover you get. They have a waterproof case like the GoPro one but it’s an extra and is supposed to be available at the end of this month.
It’s fine as is on the bike, but you can’t go surfing or diving with it.
Razzle – Yeah, it might work if it’s a free app, knowing Apple though I doubt it will be that easy.
I’m not suggesting the camera quality is linked to the editing process in any way. What I meant was that if I was a more enthusiatic camera user (typically spending more time cutting and editing movies than most) I would go for the GoPro.
The reason for this isn’t because of the quality fo the recording, it’s because GoPro is more mainstream, have more choice of mounts to get creative with and will have more accessories for it.
For me, and most of us I think the little liquid image camera will be the go, particularly if you want to save some coin over the GoPro.
The app is most definitely not in the app store at the moment.
So my camera turned up today and I have to say I’m impressed. I was expecting the quality to feel a bit cheap but the build of the camera itself is better than the plastic Go Pro. It feels solid, is really nicely finished and has a satisfying sort of weight about it. It’s gotta be heavier than a GoPro.
The instructions are basic but cover all that I guess you need to know. When changing between video modes the LED lights up different colours, it would keep TB amused for days!
The mounts look the same as the GoPro, I haven’t tried to fit it yet. I hope it does fit because the bad thing with this kit is that you don’t get any curved mounts. The GoPro kit you get with the camera is much more comprehensive.
I can’t even have a proper play as my memory card STILL hasn’t turned up. Serves me right for buying cheap I suppose.
I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve had a play and recorded some movies, but from Scotties earlier findings and my initial impression I reckon it will be a great cheaper alternative to the GoPro.
If you were more serious about doing the filming and editing, I would still go for the GoPro just because it’s the industry standard. I think this will be fine for me though.
Now I have to figure out iMovie too
Oh, and for some reason the app in the iTunes store that you need for the WiFi is ‘not currently available in the Australian Store’? WTF is that about?
Razzle/Scotty – Are you using ‘Actionconnect’?
That terrain and those singles look great Mal. I can see why you keep visitors away and make us ride at Rocky Corner instead
Were you having trouble keeping up with the mighty Berg at the start?

2nd place is first loser  Come to think of it, I have the medal on my garage wall still
That’s right, I think you put it on the draw bar of my trailer, then I backed up, it fell off and I drove over it!
