I can’t believe you’ve had that bike sitting around for so long without taking it for a ride  , Menai is only half an hour from Redfern, you should have gone and gotten it dirty 👿

    +1

I would have taken the plate off and done some urban enduro by now

    from a comparo on paper:

the Kato has a higher seat and more ground clearance.
but the tank is 1L smaller.

the husky has 2yr Factory warranty.

Which appears not to be worth the paper it’s written on. I’d say read the threads on DBW about but Paul Feeney Group got the lawyers out and several threads were removed. Having seen Mal’s own drama’s and the time it took to sort his bike it has put me off for life.

i’m a Kato bloke through and through……. but 2yr warranty. is an incentive to consider lessening brand loyalty…

    See above

the 350 is touted as having 450 power and performance.

It may have similar top end power when it’s revved hard but it doesn’t have even close to the same bottom end. I was keen for one but couldn’t get a ride. After riding one a couple of weeks ago expecting the world I’m highly thankful I didn’t buy it. It would be fun on a track.
both are EFI. and around the same dry weight.

however the engine oil capacity of only 1L for the Husky if correct figures, is a bit of a put off for me….

This wouldn’t bother me. The KTM’s LC4 had split cases for engine and gearbox and only ran around 600ml in the engine side and not much more in the gearbox side.

North America get a 302cc but we only get a 297cc.. what a rip off! :P

Husky pharking Aussies over already :P

husky gets a thermo fan factory.. does the Kato?? sorry just x2 checked fan is factory on the NA delivered bike. not the Au one.

Who needs a thermo fan on a 300cc bike????

anyway that’s my $0.002 worth ATM.

As TB said, I wouldn’t take much, if anything at all from any of the magazine reviews. The 310’s do seem more reliable than the 2 strokes and they are certainly cheaper. If you have good experience with them there isn’t alot of incentive to switch.

If you’re being open minded the Beta is supposed to be a great bike (i’d like to try one) and so is the Sherco, even if they are a little ’boutique’.

Good luck with whatever you get :)

No drama’s mate. Good luck with it.

When I had a mad 5 minutes and considered currency trading I was put off by the large amount of cash you need to ‘play’ with to get any worthwhile results.

0.5% of $50,000-$100,000+ isn’t much to lose but with a 0.5% loss margin you might find the system auto sells your stock a bit too quick, realising your loss. It’s a tricky game to play.

Have you thought about investing in property? Less potential gains but arguably more stable and therefore less risk. Not to mention the tax benefits a good accountant will be able to work out for someone earning as much as you.

Can anyone confirm of the GoPro can be mounted 90 degrees out of horizontal. I know it can physically be mounted this way but does the lens correct for new orientation? I don’t think it does but I’d like to try and confirm either way.

I did see the grab bag Scott. I only really wanted 2 more curved mounts but those grab bag ones look like they’ll give other mounting options. I’ll wait till I get the camera and check the mounts are interchangeable. The Liquid Image poeple have said *most* of the GoPro stuff will fit.

I have a GoPro mount on my old helmet so might just use that for the first go.

Are you on any of the Forex Trading forums? If not, i would join a suitable one and ask there. Also, it would be good place to pick up the basics after a bit of trawling.

I’m skeptical of such training companies unless there is someone I know who has had a positive experience with them. I guess from this post you’re the same. Better to be ‘eyes wide open’ :)

Have you got a trading account, trade now and looking to improve or just looking into starting it out?

Like most forms of trading, Forex trading is an easy way to lose money if you make one or two bad calls. You have to speculate to accumulate though as the saying goes.

Sorry to hear Justo, catch up next time :) Mick, yes you and Jack are welcome. Weclome to come over to mine Sat night for a couple of beers as well if you’re keen as LC4 is staying over and Darran and his Mrs might come over for some food too.

Maybe see you on Sat Lotsa.

    Sat riders are now:

    Moto
    Darran
    LC4Skin
    Lotsa (maybe)
    Mickktm300
    Jack

6 is a big enough number to get through the bush without too many drama’s :)

    Saturdays tentative loop will be:

    Singles from Dunks to Hitchcocks
    Down Hitchcocks, up Whitemans
Down Woose Hill (I think) and up Zig Zag
    Maculata to WF Road
Duffys/Panadol loop back to the start

I’ve seen someone on the trails scrape the glue off duct tape with some petrol and appy that to the bars before sliding the grips back on…. wow.

Anyone know of a case for an iPhone with a clear screen and able velcroable? I want to mount my old iPhone 3GS somewhere on my bike so I can use it to control the Liquid Image camera settings and functions.

Any smart ideas from you learned and experienced camera using people? I have seen the armband style iPod cases but would rather mount it on the bike if possible.

Also, does the camera have to be upright when filming or does the lens autorotate when mounted on its side? I was assuming it does and would therefore be easy to mount to the helmet, tucked away. If it has to me mounted vertically that resticts things more and my master plan has gone out of the window!

It’s 6 hours from me, would make a good weekend away though when I get the IT sorted and Tyne can ride it.

The kids track looks seriously wicked, the adult track will have too big jumps for me! Those kiddie jumps look plenty big enough :D

Just gave mine a wash and changed the oil ready for the weekend.

I snapped off one of the bolts that holds the oil filter cover on, that is the second time in the last two oil changes, they are only little 8mm bolts and they must weaken with the heat of the engine and after going in and out so often (6020kms = a lot of oil changes  )

All the Berg and KTM owners out there just keep an eye on this. ;)

Are you over tightening it? It only needs to be nipped up as there is an o-ring that will take care of the seal. How many hours does it have now and have you adjusted the valves yet?
