It’s not even the wheels and tyres that are different, it’s the suspension settings (valving not just clickers) and even the steering head angle on the triple clamps is quite different for Supermoto.

Chucking a set of slicks on to ride around the street is fine, you’d struggle trying to race though.

I’m with you, buy a bike for each….don’t forget Supercross and trials too ;)

Pretty much yes. You know you’re stuff and will be able to pcik if its scarily lean anyway.

You won’t go wrong with the stock jetting but you can improve from there once run in.

I’ve got a new Fox body armour in a large you have for cheap if you’re keen. It’s the hard front and back roost protector. Not as all encompassing as the others but as restrictive either and I honestly don’t notice it when riding.

The TMX may have been used on a bike with a bigger motor which has a stronger vacuum signal and therefore needs smaller jets.

Its why a KTM 250 runs bigger jetting than a 300 but both use the same carb. Strange but true.

XY has covered the rest with the chart :)

I think Austblue was the one I remember seeing do it too. It would alright if you could mount it without using the mount so it doesn’t stick far down.

Vimeo is a relatively popular alternative. I think Photobucket and Flickr will host video’s too from memory.

I’ve seen a good video with it fork mounted too but can’t find it. Considering the movement of the lower fork leg it was surprisingly good.

So, anyone tried to mount under the helmet visor, attached to the upper part of the helmet? When I get the Liquid Image unit I’m going to see if this is possible, don’t really want it top mounted, I can see it lasting less than 1 ride.

Sounds like a good thing Nick, gotta love modern technology! It would be hot in the summer but so is a hard pressure suit so much of a muchness.

I didn’t use to like the fcat that when my camelback was loaded up the shoulders in my roost armour would sometimes dig in and be uncomfortable. The soft armour would stop that too.

Only other issue is that you pretty much have to wear it underneath your jersey, meaning it would smell quickly. It is washable and I guess having to wash that along with your other bike gear isn’t exactly a big hassle.

This video by Adam Reimann of Toby Price uses a few interesting angles/mounts and looks pretty stable……..

I wear Fox roost armour only and it has saved me countless times. I have no input on whether the full body armour would be better, I guess it would as it’s probably one of the few areas where ‘more is more’.

I have had a few rock hits (big ones) that has missed the armour and hurt but they are few an far between. The amount of times I’ve fallen/flipped/supermanned and landed on rocks on back the armour has doubtless saved me from serious injury. Not to mention the times I’ve been jousted by sticks and it has stopped me having a hole in my chest.

A few people on here have seen some decent crashes crashes I’ve had and walked away from without any chest/back injuries.

I don’t know if the soft stuff would have the same impact resistance.

I’ve seen a few bar mounts and they look very shaky. Then again I’ve seen a few swingarm mounted vids and they look fine??

Do you think you could mount the Liquid Image under the visor of your helmet and sideways so it’s now in your way? I’ve seen a GoPro mounted this way previously.

Chest will be alright if you stand up, I sit down a lot though so wouldn’t be much good for me.

My IT is a 1980 model, I was born in 1979 so it’s almost as old as me. I only about my model IT as I’ve been looking for parts and info on it.

XY – Have a look here for the 89-90 DT200 manual. It also has the 91 manual so you can download that and compare parts.

Also, sign up at http://www.yamahait.com.au, they have a forum section specific for the DT200 :)

How does the police cruiser go on the Widowmaker mate?

Your skill switch looks like a giant dildo strapped to the bars, don’t they have small ones up your way? :P
