The Kato 200 was a little ripper and Tyne did alright on it but she did also flip it up a hill when she got a bit carried away and hit band. That bike took off like a rocket when it cam on the pipe. Even with me on it at over 100Kg it would lift the front wheel in all but top gear under hard acceleration.

Thanks for the info on the IT at Tamworth. I already have two so I don’t need another. If anyone comes across a tidy airbot or exhaust though let me know.

When I start ‘working from home’ the IT project may take off :D Let us know how the DT goes, for $600 I don’t think you can wrong :)

I actually had TB doing some work, you’ve never heard so much whingeing and whining you’d think I asked him to ride a chinese pit bike. And I had to get my own beverages.

It’s alright mate I know how well he whinges and whines  Anyone would thinks he’s the whinging POM!

It looks so much better without those fucking balls everywhere!!! The banner looks better too until you get to the picture on the right vomitsmiley.gif

Same place we start. We will do the same loop, just we would ride down Woose hill and up the Zig Zags, which way do you reckon is better?

I’d also do a little Duffy’s loop and Panadol after Maculata. Sounds like we had better get you out on a scout loop :)

I’m busy until the w/e of the 8th Sept but me and ride buddy can some up for ride from your place if you’re keen or you can come down and we’ll do a loop somehwere. I want to add in a decent loop around the Dooralong Lodge area too.

It’s a tricky one isn’t it? Going to a wet sump on the face of it seems the obvious way to go but then how to you get the air into the cylinder now that you don’t have any transfer ports?

I don’t think having the air at atmospheric pressure going through reeds directly into the cylider would work as there isn’t suffiecint tarnsfer time/volume to get the required amount of air in there. An option would be a turbo or supercharger but that adds weight and bulk and is not practical for a dirtbike.

The system works in the current 2t applications as the piston downstroke pressuriszes the crank case forcing the air (and fuel) into the chamber via the transfer ports. Without this forcing of air I don’t think it would work so well. This is even more obvious given that the reed/intake port would need to be covered by the piston upon ignition as the reeds won’t take the pressure from the combustion cycle.

The other way to do it is introduce some sort of intake in the head with a valve that opens to allow the air in. Sound familiar?? ;) Now that you have these wonderful valves what will operate them? We’ll have to add a cam and cam chain to drive the valves open and closed.

That’s a wicked idea, I should patent that, the idea might just take off :D Maybe they could look at an electrically operated solenoid inlet valve system, again, weight penalties would be realised in a bigger electrical system though.

I didn’t read the article as I’m just baout to jump on the train home. I did notice it said it will inject the fuel late in the cylcle when the exhaust port is blocked. If this is the case and with the fuel inection being electronically controlled why bother with the expansion chamber?

You shouldn’t need to scavenge the fuel as it’s DI and the sonic return wave in the chamber will only ram exhausted gas back into the cylinder on the compression stroke before the port closes

    KDX200

I rode a 1998 (I think) one only a few weeks ago and was pretty surprised how good it was. Nice and smooth, controllable, low seat height but still had some go when required. I like it so much I may keep an eye out for one for the Mrs. The 1999 KTM200 I bought for her a while back was no learners bike!

The DT would be a great bike too. I a really clean PE185 in Hamilton the other day and it has got me thinking about pulling my finger out and getting one of those IT175’s in my garage up and running. Maybe even add an IT490 for myself and go hit some vinduro’s up!

EDIT: Just saw your last post, beat me by a few minutes! B) Not a bad looking motor Drew.

I sit with my back to the window. When we moved into our current office (it’s only small) I designed the layout and furnished it so I made sure I had the best spot, best view and can see people coming from a mile off.

Since both of us will be working from home soon it all won’t matter anyway :P That said, I have to be careful of what I look at on my work lappy, the new US company have imposed and IT lockdown and bog brother IS watching!

When I’m at home I’ll have the Mac right next to me so i can watch porn all day long hahahaha!

We can make a special dispensation for Rickybobby :P Besides, someone will likely pull out between now and then. I’m keen to keep it at 10 (10.5 now Rickybobby is coming :D) as some sections may slow things down and the more bikes we havbe the slower it could get.

If it’s wet on the ground it’s going to be realinteresting :D Have you ridden any of the trails I’ve mentioned Matty?

How about the site time, it’s not right? Apparently I’ve just posted this at 00:21 on the 16th when it’s 10:21am?

Kamazi Chris said he needs to run a script but this will take a bit of time to sort so you may have to wait until later in the day. He got myself and Nick in by manually changing the sttings so we can have a temporary look see :)

The problem is with a date/timezone setting on the site so deleting anything on your compuetr won’t help, especially the autofill which does very little! You need to delete applicable site cookies, temp internet files and cache if you’re going to do it.

Careful not to lose all your web passwords though!
