And, I’m happy to swap bikes if we’re ever out on a ride and you feel a bit melancholy for some 2T fun
I’d consider a go on the Berg mandatory, it’s a special bond only berg ownersr share  I ride a mates 250SX here and there and the 570 feels like an ADV when I get back on it! Damn that SX has some balls though……5th gear power wheelies….yes sir!!
Bob wrote:Don’t start on this weight crap, my penis wasn’t big enough to get a 570:unsure:
That prob is no lighter anyway
I shave my pubes off and don’t wear any armor , and don’t carry a pommy accent around so i reckon there is a fair bit of lost weight there :laugh:I actually only need a 125  …at least I could touch the ground with one of those
Sorry Raz its Moto’s fault he hijacked it first
As you were
I wouldn’t be surprised if the 570 weighed more! It does have 120 more cubes though (pubes don’t factor into the equation) and it adds to my own lenghth and girth when bench racing (and real life) so it is worth it
On a serious note, did you mean to say 125 or TTR-50?
razzle wrote:What does “have an idea” mean? … do you mean can I even ride (as opposed to just shop)? Well, one day you will get to find that out I guess, and you might just regret selling the 2T you used to have in the process! :unsure: (not that I’m competitive or anything)…
Haha, I meant ‘all the gear and no idea’…..jokingly of course! I know that’s not the case from Mick’s ride report
You could be quite right with the 2t thing though, if you’re out in front and I can’t keep up (quite probable) I might just shed a tear over my 300…not that it would have helped me anyway, you can’t make up for lack of skill, I should know, that’s why I got a 570 to try and help me out
Razz – Needle clip 5 is like running your for clikers all the way clockwise. Possible but nou suggested. In terms of jetting, if you’re at an extreme on the needle it’s not the right needle.
Set suspension to ‘comfort’, I used comfort for a while and I’m much heavier than you. You need to set the sag KTM/Berg’s are very sensitive to the set-up. 5mm wrong on the rear sag and front end can feel like shit….I’ve learnt the hard way!
If you’re comfortable with the 2 banger, red spring and flush is the only way to go
Ignition, yes probably the switch with I and II. It’s a negligable difference and only really noticable in the mid/upper rev range.
Yes, get the handling right first. Squish mods can improve bottom end grunt, combustion and fuel efficiency…not just reserved for ripping your arm out power.

I did hear you do good stand up mono’s now. Does the extra weight help prevent you going over the back?
Razza – With all this ‘gear’ you better have an ‘idea’
I went out on my blinged up brand new Berg, rode about 1.5Km, couldn’t keep up and bailed on my first ever ride

Westy has PM’d me and decided to give his bike a bit more time to make a proper impression (I hope you don’t mind me saying!).
Best bet Westy is to list the foillwoing specs if you can and we can help, as I’ve just discovered you’re a local I’m also more than willing to meet up and help you tweak some settings to get it to ride more in line with what you want/were expecting.
The benefit of a KTM/Berg 2t is that they are so tuneable, this can also be a downside though if you just want to throw a leg over it and ride…….the difference can be significant.
If you can, list what you are running in terms of:
Gearing = 13/50?
Jetting – Pilot, main, needle, clip position and air screw
Suspension settings as well as sag numbers (the rear spring looks stock, how much do you weigh?)
Power valve spring and dolly screw adjustment
Ignition setting – Traction or power? (this is the wire with the connector near your CDI)
Any other mods? (SX CDI, shaved head, modded squish band and/or angle, higher compression etc.)
Lokks like an M12 rear tyre, they are ghey for a 2t in the Watagan’s by the way……What pipe is it, the muffler is a KTM powerparts item, is the expansion chamber a KTM pipe too (means a rebranded FMF Fatty)?
mike wrote:Can’t believe you have’nt tried the M12XC mate, i’v been harping on about them to you every time we talk about tyres
They are awesome 90×90 for meWell, this is true. But, in my defense, when you wwere saying that I was running the MS3 whcih I thought to be better anyway
I think the MH3 would be the go for the condition I normally ride in.
TB – Yes, I’m in a hotel :pinch:
LC – I have a Pirelli Mid Soft and Dunlop MX51. I have just given the Pirelli away and I’ll use the Dunlop when I next get a new mousse. It goes good for a few hundred Km’s then the mousse gets too soft (as its an 80/100) and handling goes to shite.
Thanks for the input all, it seems the Michy’s are still popular, I’ll try and MH3 out if i can get hold of one locally in time (excluding Woody’s, you can choke on the girth of my woody before I buy a tyre from you).
Bob wrote:This probably only works with YAMAHA’s though :laugh:And the fact they handle like a nimble planet so breaking parts is hard to do
Isn’t your 450 pretty much a farm ag bike anyway?
Good effort Razzamatzz, you need more air filters though

He`s lined up for Dakar on January 5Looking forward to tomorrows A4DE results as they come in…
GO MAL GO :woohoo:
I was more thinking of the mental issue of riding after have just recovered from a broken back caused whilst….errrrr….riding.
He’s tough as nails. I’d probably be playing table tennis by now if that happened to me.
Sold
Good to see Grabbo in 13th, clearly he’s not been overtly affected by his monster crash.
KTMRULES is in 91st.
Anyone that runs a M12 XC tried a Michy MS3 or MH3? I used to love the MS3 after switching to it from the S12. It’s been so long since trying them though I couldn’t compare them now.
Last few fronts have been Pirelli Scorp Mid Soft, Pirelli Extra X and Dunlop MX51. All of which have been good. The Dunlops are a pig to fit as they have a tough sidewall, the Pirelli’s are like mountain bike tyres.
I run mousses so don’t give a crap sidewall stiffness from a flat perspective, I think I’d rather a firmer sidewall though to give the mousse an easier time though. I’m a mousse destroyer!
I’m now tossing up between the MH3 and the M12 XC.
It’s funny that the first two suggestions are for one of the few tyres I haven’t tried.
A 90/90 is near as a gnat’s dick the same as a 80/100, i.e. 81mm? Is that a stock Michy size, I haven’t used Michy’s for a while?
For what it’s worth I’ve been preferring wider fronts (90/100) and tyres with more knobs than less as the majority of stuff I ride is hardpack, rocks, roots and general bush shit. Not a great deal of mud/clay.
The Michy M12 XC looks quite good in that regard. I need a new tyre and altough I have 2 new ones sat in the garage I they are both 90/100’s and I need a 80/100 (or equivalent) as the front mousses are dying too quickly in the 90/100’s.

That’s still not enough
