I’d probably go for a couple of swingarm stickers in OBT colours.

Yep the GT650 is identical to a SV650, and the rest is what I’ve been told as well, Suzuki may even part own them.
Good bikes from what I’ve seen

Hello Eskip, epikes, spike, esky ,Ekips glad to (re?)make your virtual acquaintaince..
are you by chance the fella who likes to put holes in his cases mid-ride?

Their roadbikes are well accepted by the roadbike blokes, the 650 twin in particular is abeaut piece of equipment, one bloke i know has a new BMW1200 4 cyl, a ZZr600, a 72 BMW750, a WLA, a TE250 a TE450 and a Hyosong 650, so they must make the grade.

Highly unlikely Mr Corey8, once the burn is ignited the plugs job is done.

Ok recieved my new Bullpitt Kevlar reoed gloves today, the size and colour i was after wasn’t availiable so mark from Bullpitt offered me a brand new improved design for the same money if i was prepared to wait for a fortnite….obviously i said yes. Now he has emailed me every few days to make sure i knew what was going on (excellent PR and customer service) and emailed me once he had dispatched them.
Opened the packet ten minutes ago and first impressions were.
Quality= ++++ best stitched and put together glove i have ever had.
Fit= got the L, could’ve got the XL, bit firm but again i know they will stretch as I wear them in.
Comfort= Top notch the knuckle protectors are a tad hard, but i have only ever had thin plastic or thick leather ones before, they took a few minutes to get used to.Materials= seem like all good quality, twin layers or some sort of space-tech stuff on the top to just behind your knuckles that leave a stretch area as you clench your fist, inner thumb reo, palm reo finger protection pads and good broad velcro tabs to do up and they actually come up past your wrist alittle unlike most off-road gloves.
All in all so far it appears my punt has paid off, as they look and feel like “lifetime” gloves like my roadie gloves have been, excellent value at $30-$40, and an Aussie manufacturer at that let’s see how they go in the bush…..

Gas Gas 300 won’t smoke a 450, and the new KTM300s are probably not quite as quick as a CRF450F in a drag, but believe me the TM300 and Husky WR300 rocket ships ain’t for the faint hearted, they are quicker than mine by a fair margin and I hold a well tuned CRF450F to 90-95 on the tar with a good rider, yet both of those 300s smoke me in straight line.
read here what Barry A said in a test review about the YZWR alone

Axel, if the bottom end response is to “tiring” as in the snap gets away from you (you’d hate my YZ, it stands on the rear wheel off idle) but like the rest of the power characteristics with the shorty, you can raise the needle a notch (lower the clip) fattening the jetting in the 0-1/4 throttle range and making it a little “doughier”, or you can retard the timing which robs the advance down low and gives better burn up high.
Heaps of tricks you can use to “tweak’ and tune.

Hey Chris just remove the laquer coat and polish it, it’ll be bling….. I actually hate the way Yamaha paint the swingarms in grey paint, when there’s a beaut alloy just dying to be released to the world. It’s one thing that KTM know well, presentation of product.

Quote:Was discussing short silencers on the way home from a ride yesterday. I always thought shorty’s improve bottom end. My astute colleague with more knowledgeable years claims it takes from the bottom and gives to the top end. Anyone with practical experience confirm what the effect is on “current” model 2smokes?Sorry it would appear your “astute” colleague is WRONG, short silencers on a powervalved smoker improve bottom end response and torque dramatically. In days gone past they were referrred to as “supercross silencers, as supercross riders need instant boogie to clear the large obstacles on those tight tracks with little runup. A long silencer will help top end, this is not to be confused with “baffling” and this is where people get confused about 2 stroke pressure waves. A 2T pipe that is well designed and has a good integrated silencer/muffler should have a constant “push/pull eefect in the right sequence of waves to firstly.
#1-Allow the gases to escape and expand as they heat up in the chamber.
#2- create a back pressure to push the fresh intake charge that overfills the combustion chamber and into the header section of the pipe back into the combustion chamber.Which is why a 2 stroke has far more volumetric efficency than a 4t.

Ok did this Modification on the weekend (in amongst modding an exhaust for a mate and deciding I hate 4T exhausts) a few things to keep an eye on.
#1-Drill the blank intake with a 5mm/5.5mm drill, if you use a 5/16-8mm you will punch thorugh the rear of the casting.
#2-the outer cowl that has the markings on it, just die-grind/file the whole stop section away, so the tap turns 360 degrees.
#3- a set of letter punches can be used to mark “RES” at the 12 o’clock position as this is where the tap needs to be for reserve.
#4-5/16″ copper pipe works as a pickup with a slight flare
And does anyone know if two part expoxy resin works in a fuel tank?

Umm Moto you do realise the Husky 300 will smoke a 450 don’t you? so if the 450 is too much power the last bike I’d recommend is a 250/300 2t, or am I interpretting your comments wrong?
Although I do detect a bit of closet smoking in your recent dialogue, so are you gunna come out of the closet soon or what?
BCMenace how’d it go, improve the snap off the bottom end?, might run a bit lean on the pilot with normal jetting, Mine did but maybe not as every bike is a little different
Excellent price too, they’re a couple hundred new and well worth it at that.
Bit of trivia Flying Machine Factory was founded by Marty Moates the first non-european to win a Motocross G.P. riding a stock YZ465 out of the back of a van with his best mate as his mechanic, Marty came and raced in some of the early supercross in Australia in the early-mid eighties and was loved by Australians for his easy going manner. Unfortunately Marty took his own life several years ago either on, or just short of his 50th birthday. Was and still is one of my all time Bike heroes.
