May I ask on the subject of retards, do they use any old carcass that comes along or do they use particular brands for retarding?

Just wondering cause if I have a retread remoulded out of say a Carlsbad with stiff sidewalls and it doesn’t grip, then Ollie gets one remoulded out of a Dunlop 736 and his works well wouldn’t that play an important part in rider evaluation?

Unlike blue who always feel soft and spongy and are in bits in the shed geting work done on them links so you cant sit on them anywayB)

I agree, those TMs are always having problems, unlike Blue and white…:P

Dont forget yellow and black was tryed by yami as well

and i didnt know you are a TM closet lover otherwise you would be Mr blue&white:lol:

and once Yamaha( which i have no particular brand loyalty a good bike, is just that a good bike) and KTM where both White at once, except one did topends in and the other bottom ends :silly:

Got overtaken by a MXC250 once…… he did it only the once and I was on a RM125 on a longtrack.

I rode that same bike on the weekend:woohoo: and I can tell you now I was really impressed with the way it handled, maybe they have changed the internal components to the old PDS. The power of that thing is awsome its an absolute rocketship, thanks for the blast Bill

    OllieB)

I laugh to myself all the time when I hear about PDS problem. Have you actually thought that maybe the clickers are not set right, I have sorted several Katos suspensions now and have never had any that cant be sorted, as a matter of a fact it always seems to be the unadjusted ones that cant believe all it was, was their clickers, they are all prepared to bag the design when they havent tried, Get over it Blue and just admit that you didn’t persevere with suspension settings enough, or if you did the person helping maybe did not have their head around it…it is all real easy as well when you understand it

Yeah I got mine working reasonably well, $$$ and time later(terry hay), and i will admit they have come a long way since ’02 models but ditto play with the clickers and spring rates on a good linkage bike and it’s “magic carpet” ride baby, admit it, you can try but a good true rising rate is what KTM had, and then they didn’t anymore. I still see more KTM riders ejected over the bars than others, not more crashes admittedly but more “over the bar” action per head.

Nice motors, ergos, and build quality, and one day they will rehire the suspension engineer they had in the late eighties to mid-ninties, and get someone who isn’t colour blind to redesign the “dressing”.

How do the new Hussies react in the rear?, haven’t ridden one since a ’04 and it was a dog at the rear and steering was awkward and slow.

You catch more flies with Honey than Vinegar…

There where some cheap bling bits for an XR650 in the paper on the weekend, anyone see that?

and Troy Lee are having a seelout special on their “polka dot” range. :P

Actually being someone who is not a follower of “riding fashion” I appreciate something altogether different

The tape tends not to move around inside at lower pressures like we run, the Rubber band is primarily designed for roadbikes that runhigher pressures and the tube doesn’t “wander” like ours do. I’ve always used electrical tape and changed it each time i change a tyre.

Thanks Mr Rat, we have an 8 yr old on a 60, and a twelve year old on an 80, and I think an 80 yr old (me) on a 250, and some 25 yr olds on everything (speed, mushies, adrenaline, the works) and October is a good month for riding as the temp hasn’t climbed too high.

    I’ll keep an ear out.
    several will need day licences.

Kram, THe Hastings Valley MCC have one on November 8. There could be one in October as well because they had to cancel the one in june because of the wet weather.

Could be very interested in the October one Mr Mick D, where would one find more info, as the Border boyz are thinking of forming several pairs of riders to do a few
Me and the next slowest unfittest old Bloke, The two Young Guns and then the other two younger guns, three teams of two, and two adept juniors (what age down to do Hastings allow to run on the loops?) and I can bludge on my Co-rider like last time  .
Was running third overall, 1st in class then some idiot ran out of fuel in a creek 10 ks out on a twenty K loop

Was going, ended up with bike in pieces with a busted radiator from an accident several months ago, finally sprung the core and popped.

May as well freshen a few bits up while it’s partially dismembered.

    maybe next week?

I had to unstitch the strap on my Oakely crowbars, but essentially they will fit and goggle after you remove the original strap.

    easy peasy…

I reckon it’ll do what da ya’s reckon, gunna try and make an integrated pipeguard with it too.

not promising any great shakes but I have surprised myself before…;)
