2 mates belting through the bush riding their dirt bikes, 1 bloke was on a DRZ and his mate was riding a KTM when they came to the end of one of the sweetest loamiest single trails god put on the earth there was a funeral procession travelling slowly along the road.
The bloke riding the DRZ skidded to a stop, hopped off his bike, removed his helmet and bowed his head as the funeral procession past by him. When his mate riding the KTM finally got to the end of the trail he said to the DRZ rider, mate I just saw what you did from way back up the trail and that was one of the most decent things I have seen anyone do,

Yeh replied the DRZ rider it’s the least I could do seeing that I was married to her for 10 years now lets ride..:woohoo:

and this is exactly the reason darwins theory will prevail and DRZ riders will become extinct.
And conversely explains why KTMs are everywhere just like rabbit warrens.

Aidan can’t help you with the photos, but have to ask you how heavy is that BMW?, cause I suspect you riding a bike in the dirt that is heavier than any of my roadies ever were, but she sure is a BBW of a cycle that’s for sure.
And if it is that heavy you may indeed be a lucky lad to have got away with a broken leg, imagine if it rolled on you ;)

Is That the 742FA replacement if so should be a good thing as it was my front of choice, planted excellent feel and turn in and won’t drift at the apex unless you’re being silly as a wheel.

let us know how it goes

Oh I apologise Ollie, was no way casting aspersions onto your good self, but you know if you eat ALL of your pies, peas and spuds you too can grow up to be a fine looking fellow like myself.

On seconds thoughts maybe I should leave the pies alone and just eat the peas and potatoes…

I seem to recall from the dark recesses of my mind that the XR350R was a completely different motor, a mid-sized breed that showed honda was ahead in this regard, was not an upsized 250 nor a downsized 500, I had the option a few years back on an old thumpernats CR350R and the 250 motor was not compatable with the mounts etc.

I got my set black, XL and they fit good, and two sets of the snow socks (?) see what they are like

    TB

Only an XL Mr TB sir, you are indeed a svelte boy, I myself have only just moved back into an XL, and my XR500 riding mate is still a XXXXL sorta lad (actually a sherman tank is more like it) so ignore the weedy little buggers who are too miserable to eat drink and be merry, and rejoice in the fact you are a bull in physique not a bulimic steer or yearling wannabe.

When I was a kid ( for all you young ones, a triceratops was PM, and a vicious little raptor was treasurer, who later became a PM himself ) I raced MX, my next down brother and my best mate raced BMX, they spent way way more time in the Emergency room than I, so my philosphy is “bicycles have a higher Medically treated injury frequency than motorcycles, and are way less fun, but motorcycling has a higher severity rating”, so just for the thrill of it, my offspring have done both so they get the best of both worlds  . Moto you MTB blokes can be pure lunatics and I reckon it’s the lack of protective headgear that is part of the problem, and can go really really fast downhill, but yous all suck at hillclimbs.

I have a 4 yr old Norco cruiser in the shed, gee it looks the goods…..

You can make them easy enough, cause the ones I used to buy would bend and strip the metric fine threads in the bolt, so about 15 yrs ago i made two out of H/T and H/T imperial bolts, drilling was the most difficult bit, but use the right drill bit and all was good, gave one to me best mate and still use the other.

DBW is a generic Dirtbike site that has members from 13yr old to 70 yr old, is very broad in appeal, but as with all generic forums attracts it’s fair share of wannabes and vvankas, it has it’s merits and is good for a wag or two, but you have to wade through the self-opinionated instant experts to get to the good stuff that the few in the know post.
The owner is a good bloke with a big heart who has the best interests of the sport in mind.

It’s like going to the pub, here’s like having a barbie at a mates place.
