You do realise Moto, that there is no such thing as perfect suspension, without some sort of telemetric sensory inpt and hydrualic response system all pure mechanical systems are going to be for one thing or another. The best forks i have ever used can still be criticised under some conditions.
And I’m well tired after work, but I’d prefer to be well tyred on the bike.Bloody English think they’d learn the language eh?

Glad to make your virtual acquaintaince Mr Nob>
The whole MTK versus ZRD is irrelevant to me anyway, cause they are both different ends of the spectrum, cause one is made for pokeing along having fun and exploring, but if you try to go fast it will spit you off, and the other is made for going fast and pretending you’re Taddy, and if you try to poke along it will spit you off as well.
So see they are completely different orf-road mounts but the end result is the same.BC
Almost makes me wish I lived in the area……almost.
Go Moto, when would you next get to experience the rush of a whole lotta foolish daredevils taking uncontrolled risks   .

As I sit here eating my reheated chicken casserole I realise I am old, so I guess you blokes are too, and this site reflects that Mick, relaxed, no aggro and tall tales, good onya Bud for reaching the glorious age you have and having the good manners to be here.

I had a GSXR11 with a fusible link in it, was a godsend cause a similar thing happened witha bare wire, but all it did was stop the bike before any real damage was done. Unfortunately for my nerves and supersitions it happened exactly at the spot one of my closest mates was killed on his YZF750 12 months prior.
A trailer trip home, a quick look with a multimeter, a bit of insulation tape and flexible conduit and presto all good.BC
Well Mick a project you wanted, a project you got.
JE pistons are good stuff in my experience, surely with the popularity of the big XRs, one would find parts a woolies?
My old XR250 had a white frame, personally I didn’t like it, the CR red was much nicer.
all red plastics on an all red frame looks horn IMHO.

Yep Menace, a gross error in judgement on my behalf, took the plunge ate some humble pie, had a D&M, a few tears and back on the road of marital bliss, as was for near 25 years beforehand.
Louee lets see, if I can swing the money and Family into it would be great, we are overdue for a getaway.

By using the past tense in your statement am i to understand Mr Moto, that then in your opinion whence someone returns to Victoria they cease to be?
ergo living in victoria is only for the deceased?BC

Qikshade are the original and best, but are way more than most of the others, about $200-250 will see you in a 3.0×3.0 good quality unit.
Ours was $300ish a few years ago but now is only $180.
Buy from local camping people, but not the local camp people………

We.ve got one that for 4 or 5 years has been everywhere with us, from regional rounds to camping, rain hail, shine it’s still a little ripper, trailmaster or some such brand, got it from local camping store.
Slept in it earlier this month at the Relay for life, put 2 sides up and it was all we needed. They’re all fairly well the same now, but check the plastics out, some are better than others.

Deeply proud of you blokes, old timey true blue Aussie bike riders.
You Lot humble some of the younger “wannabes” who don’t even stop for a mate.

Hello Tim, nice to make your virtual acquaintaince and I see you’ve always been a fourstroke rider, well won’t hold that against you too much. at least they have two wheels and a powerplant of sorts.

Hello Jak, nice to make your virtual acquaintaince, the best thing about trail riding is in all these years I am still to be T-boned by a bit of Flora, and the Fauna is way softer than a tin-top.
Glad to hear you have recovered enough to ride again, must have been hard work.BC
