It’s all moot cause this converstaion has lasted way longer than the life expectancy of those O’neal pants anyway.

I apologise to anyone out there who has had the misfortune to purchase any of these products, for I too have been lured by the pretty colours and reasonable pricing, only to have been bitten by the quality and fitment issues they don’t offer as part of the deal, and have no fear in future I shall refrain from making any purchases of any riding gear from this house of pain

Good to hear it wasn’t a bad one (bad enough though) if I were ewe (A little Kiwi humour there) I’d stay away from the YZ250 unless you are confident engine charateristics won’t give u a hard time cause I’ve had a rippling fit 25 yr old tell me the YZ250 beat him up too much, and wondered how an old man could hold it together on single track.

What about a Gas gas 300 excellent easy power and lightweight?

To go a bit further, have the front of the bike unweighted/elevated, loosen the bottom clamps right off and the top ones a bit, loosen the axe clamps a little, then retighten the axle clamps, bottom triples and then top triples, should have pulled itself into the alignment consistent with the now straightly set wheel.
Used to be quite an issue with the older inverted forks as Champo said, and KTMs, cause you’re always hitting stuff with them…or is that hitting them with stuff? Oh well doesn’t matter as long as the KTM is hit is all that matters.

I’ve been holding my tongue for days now, but I am sorry but i gotta say it…….

Frankly owning a 2002 KTM 520 is enough of a shock in itself, without hunting another one down.

    there I said it,
Try Terry Haye at Shock treatment he’s the guru on PDS shocks and KTM suspension in general, will know where to source one for sure, and Coffs wreckers had a “good” (Actually there is no such thing as a good EXC, I s’pose it was cause it was dead, a dead KTM is a good KTM anyhow it was in relatively god condition compared to new) 02 380 EXC they were wrecking a while back, same shock I believe, pretty shocking really.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh Bruce. I sold them to another OBT member.
I will admit they were the “poverty pack” Oneals to.

Oh yeah OK, yeah “oneals” you say they’re a good deal better than “O’Neals” yep they should be great value for money at 50 oxford scholars how can you go wrong.

the above statement is a work of fiction what I meant to say was you’ll be lucky to get home without an obsecenity or public nudity charge being laid against you cause the stitching will fall to bits and god help you if you actually fall off wearing them, cause O’neal won’t

Yep Mick that’s the ticket (sticker even), prior to 2005 or 2003 (can’t remember they could get the bikes approved by model and year type, now basically the californian autocrats have banned all smelly smokers from using public lands unless they were built prior to those dates.

that’s my understanding of the issue sorta like a rough version of the mexs’ recreational rego deal.

Don’t they have to be asessed as “environmentally friendly” to get the green sticker to be used on public lands, cause the boyz on TT are always worrying about “green” versus “non-green” stickere bikes?

The American systems of governance are almost third world in consistency, look at california, it has much stricter laws than Texas, so rodworthy in one state may not comply in the next, same across their whole legal system, just indicative of their systems of government.

They are in absolute disbelief at some of our legal bikes, pipedreams for most of them.

I just don’t know what made him think that would be a good idea!

what a golden goose he is, eh…….:side:

Only way that could have been worse was if he tried that on a KTM…usually they end for end your end hits their end and the ride ends

I’m with Moto, why in the hell would you add the complication heat and extra plumbing of a turbo on a dirtbike?, just buy a more powerful one, I can understand forced induction on a harley (make it go a little more like it sounds) but want more power, 75% more on a 250 4t GEE now it has the power of a 250 2t that’s lighter and far more simpler, want a powerful 4t?? buy a 450, a 530 hell even a big husky 610 or whatever they are this month.
now you’re chasing your suspension around with the extra power and maybe your brakes and your gearbox and the chassis needs beefing and the whole dirty aircleaner issue becomes a nightmare….

    Why
    Why
    Why

And steel caps boots can cut your toesies off, but at the pressure required to do so your toesies would have been amputated by the big bad surgeon anyway.
